listened to game on car radio going to beach. Boston College scored TD. what? no score from announcer. hopin' USC ahead. missed PAT. USC leading 14-6. whew.

after I got my swam on... listened to game again. start of 2nd half. 1st USC play... Barkley interception... BC possession. what the frell? will Pac-10 start bowl season 0-3? BC fumble... USC possession. whew.

earlier in week... #16 Oregon State owned by #15 BYU 44-20 and Cal lost 37-27 to #23 Utah. thought of Pac-10 vball. like football... amazing, awesome, wild conference season... squads cannibalizing one another. either deep conference or average teams beating each other up. 8 Pac-10 vball teams invited to NCAAs. disastrous results. no conference team made it to the final four for the 1st time since the mid-90s.

watched parts of 4th quarter. BC possession. BC QB threw incomplete pass after incomplete pass. USC interception. next play... Barkley threw deep pass to one of his receivers covered by 3 BC defenders. amazing throw... amazing catch.

as of this writing... no plans to watch other Pac-10 teams in their bowl games other than Rose Bowl. would rather spend time at beach. I will win the Mega Millions.

Penn State - NCAA Women's Volleyball Champions

gotta love the Pause. Pause = #11 Megan Hodge. I know my entire home state watched Hawaii's semifinal match loss against Penn State. how? friend Sheila... not into organized sports... actually watched parts of the match. how not into sports is she? for half an hour... she wondered and thought it cool that a Penn State player had the pause symbol on her jersey. blame the font.

I loathed Megan Hodge the last 2 seasons. this season as well... until she became the Pause. she and her team kicked Stanford's glutes the past 2 title matches. I have to wait until next season until I can write a women's vball entry w/ a Pac-10 school as a national champion. long drought for the conference. 4 cycles.

Penn State got their offense. intricate offense. men's style offense. plays not seen in WAC play. amazing. Hawaii lost to a deserving champion.

I already knew the result. did not watch the 3rd or 4th sets. wanted positive feeling of 1st set win... seeing happy Wahine vball players and fans.

it has been several cycles since a Pac-10 team has not made it to the national semifinals. shock of Pac-10's disastrous performance in NCAAs gone.

#11 seed Minnesota's setter hottie... Taylor Carico... comes from Pac-10 country. while at USC... she QBed an offense that eliminated #2 seed Texas in a regional final match 2 seasons ago. fallen in love w/ her again. she needs to come to Hawaii. get her Spacer Bronze back. very offensive setter. she will QB Minnesota and be victorious over Texas. hoo-rah! Auslander hottie Tabitha Love will kick ass.

as for #12 seed Hawaii... I've joked this past week that they lack team chemistry... instead they have team physics. in physics... F = ma... where Force = muffin Aneli. na Wahine will ride her (pork chop w/ gravy) train to the finals. she's gonna be explosive. she's gonna kick glutes.

Minnesota setter Taylor Carico played for USC for 3 seasons before transferring her senior season. she looks pale. lost her Spacer bronze. when she played for USC... didn't care much for her... other than the fact that rather than dink the ball... she would attack w/ authoritay. at USC she used to set a very high ball. very high. high where vball would disappear from tv screen.

Minnesota runs a relatively faster offense. nice seeing Carico in action again. still very offensive setter... attacking w/ authoritay.

what's up w/ Florida State? don't know much about ACC vball. a lot of Auslanderen for the Seminoles. #3 seed surprised many. if rankings held... #3 ranked and #12 seed Hawaii would have played in this regional.

Cal played ok in the 1st set until nemesis Penn State libero served ace after ace. passing problems for Cal. when pass stabilized... Cal ran their offense... QBed by my blond honey Carli Lloyd. then Penn State had block after block. frell.

hottie Hana carried team for 2 sets. at one point hitting .400 for the match. other players needed to step up. Penn State made it look so easy.

in 3rd set Cal coach changed things up a bit. Kiraly mentioned rotations switched to help other Cal players to step up at the expense of Hana. valiant Cal effort... but too late.

Cal last of 8 Pac-10 teams in the tournament. Kiraly mentioned that in 29 seasons... only twice has the Pac-10 not been represented in the national semis. this will be the 3rd. for the 3rd straight season Cal has played against the defending national champs... eliminating Nebraska 3 cycles ago... losing to Penn State the past 2.

USC - NCAA Men's Water Polo Champions

USC repeats as NCAA men's water polo champions. 1st of the 5 NCAA aquatic titles contested. since I began this blog... the Pac-10 has fallen short 1 title in sweeping the aquatic championships... men's swimming in 2008-2009 and women's rowing in 2007-2008 seasons. will this be the season for a sweep?

1st national title for the Pac-10 this athletic season. earlier in the solar day #1 Stanford placed 2nd in the women's college cup. so close. once Stanford wins its 1st soccer title... will it open the flood gates for more titles? that's what happened to its vball program.

speaking of vball... still in shock w/ Pac-10's performance in the NCAAs. out of 8 conference teams... only 2 remain... Cal and Stanford. it would be awesome if my muffin top hottie Aneli and na Wahine win the title... but it would also be awesome if Cal won. I remember meeting blond hotties Carli and Hana... took pics w/ them when they played in the islands. took a pic w/ Hana... the Pac-10 player of the cycle. it would be ever more awesome if I can say I took a pic w/ the MVP.

NCAA Women's Volleyball: #3 Hawaii 3 - #15 USC 1

Hawaii eliminated USC in 4 sets. whew. surprised w/ Mafua's setting. she forced all her hitters to hit. well... that's what she's supposed to do... throw opposing blockers off. she also threw off her own hitters. bipolar Kaufman frelled up several times. missed connections where set vball dropped to floor. rewind. Kaufman on air mouthing FUCK! rewind.

Aneli's muffin top on display. mmmmm. lot of Hawaii fans in crowd cheering her and na Wahine on. I will win the Mega Millions. I will win currency to travel to the Stanford regional and watch Hawaii be victorious against #5 seed Illinois.

NCAA Women's Volleyball: #4 Stanford 3 - Saint Mary's 2

several Hawaii players on Saint Mary's roster. mesmerized by #11 Megan Burton. if Hawaii's Aneli = muffin top... Megan = cake. mmmmm. entranced. Saint Mary's setter Kapua Kamana'o = kid sister of fomer UH setter Kanoe. they both kick ass.

watched match online. able to look at scores across this great country. prior to this match... #14 seed Oregon lost... swept by #13 Kentucky. what? a Pac-10 team losing to a vball team from the football centric sec? I expected an all Pac-10 final in that region. shocked.

big 12 really got frelled by the committee. 4 teams from that conference play each other in the Omaha regional. shocked at #8 seed UCLA's home loss against Baylor.

at start of this match #9 seed California only Pac-10 team to make it to the sweet 16. totally stunned w/ Pac-10's performance. I expected 5 Pac-10 teams to make it to the regionals. not so. I expected a vball Rose Bowl final. only way for this to happen if #11 seed Minnesota makes it to the finals against either Cal or Stanford.

Pac-10 did really well in non-conference matches to start the season. they also beat each other up in conference play. in a previous post I wondered if Pac-10 teams really good or just average. NCAA performance disastrous. I will win the Mega Millions. I will win currency to purchase spirits to really lift my spirits.

Stanford lost the 1st set. from the way the Cardinal played... and also from the way Saint Mary's played... it looked as if Stanford would be the 7th Pac-10 team... out of 8 who made it to the NCAAs... to be eliminated. Stanford prevailed.

as far as playing the bracket... surprised to be in 2nd place. all playing must be frelled w/ their choices as well. friend Aria's in last place. I think she's the only one to pick Cal to win it all. let's hope so.

The Big Spike: #6 Stanford 3 - #11 California 2

hotties Carli Lloyd and Hana Cutura along w/ the Golden Bears almost swept Stanford. up 2 sets... ahead 22-17 and still ahead at 23-20 late in the 3rd set... Spartakiaden started a little before the Beijing Olympics. I will win the Mega Millions. I will win currency to visit Beijing one solar day. friend mentioned people would set out a goal... like make a quilt... where they would start work on it during the opening ceremony... and finish it by the closing ceremony.

she had an idea of an exercise challenge. she's like: we could exercise 800 miles. Olympics 16/17 solar days. that would mean we would have to exercise about 50 miles each solar day. the numbers 1 and 5 stuck in our heads. decided to bike 150 miles and do 150 push ups during Olympics.

she also mentioned that in Japan... fancy pedometers sold there. people could input what city they wanted to walk to. so I thought... hmmmm... I should walk my way to the mainland. it would take too long to just walk. decided to include all forms of exercise... swimming, running, biking, rowing, gym machines.

from what I remember... Honolulu to San Francisco about 2,391 miles. San Francisco to Phoenix about 386 miles. Phoenix to Chicago 1683 miles. I've exercised 4,442 miles to Chicago. awesome. tomorrow I begin my 715 miles exercise journey to New York.

if I average 10 miles each solar day... I give myself 71 solar days to complete Spartakiad 7 - New York by 02.07.10. Spartakiad 6 - Chicago officially ends 12.07.09.

Stanford - Pac-10 Volleyball Champions

#6 Stanford automatically qualifies for the NCAAs and should represent the Pac-10 well in the tournament. its 5 set victory over rival #11 California in the Big Spike will be televised on Sunday. one last chance to see hotties Hana Cutura and Carli Lloyd on TV.

when the Golden Bears visited the islands... went to its match against #3 Hawaii... met hotties Hana and Carli. mmmmm. I told goddess Hana: good luck in the conference. aaaah.

will 8 Pac-10 teams make it to the NCAAs? who knows about Washington State? Cougars won its 1st match in the 2nd half of conference play against cellar dweller Oregon State. WSU does have victories over ranked conference foes earlier in the season. now... did Washington State get worse over the season... or did Pac-10 rivals get better?

who the frell knows? in its last conference match... # 4 Washington lost in 5 sets to #18 Oregon. crazy Pac-10 vball season. since Stanford won the conference title will voters make it the highest ranked Pac-10 team nationally? or will UW remain the highest ranked conference team considering the head to head match ups?

if 8 teams do make it to the NCAAs... will the committee spread teams throughout the bracket... or will committee make Pac-10 teams cannibalize each other... eliminating each other out of the tournament? will have to wait until Sunday.
