current song: Hot by Inna
Siobhan Magnus. annoying. I have not watched any of her background stories... but I picture her to be one of those individuals who think they're original... but yet in reality they're generic. I imagine her saying: I'm soooo into punk... I'm a punk rocker... I'm gonna get my nose pierced... I'm gonna spike my hair... I'm gonna wear black... I'm soooo original. please. she chose to sing a ballad. tried to watch her performance... but she still looks like she's taking a crap when she performs. fast forward. not into ballads... not into hearing her scream and yell. Simon: I'm getting bored w/ the screaming at the end. no surprise there.
Casey James = Mr. monotone. boring. fast forward. Simon: strongest week so far... authentic... really impressed. huh?
Michael Lynche. he plays the guitar? why didn't he sing on stage? he chose a ballad. fast forward. Simon: 1st time I can take you seriously... brilliant performance. huh?
Didi Benami. she... like Siobhan... looks like she's takin' a dump while singing. painful to watch. she chose ballad. fast forward. Simon: over the top... off melody.
Tim Urban covered Sweet Love by Anita Baker. familiar w/ song based on title alone. ballad. fast forward. Simon: inappropriate song... nobody cares what we say... you're going to be here next week. is he the Sanjaya for this season? I remember voting for Sanjaya just for the hell of it... to keep him in competition as long as possible.
Andrew Garcia covered Forever by domestic violence. okay performance. he sings w/ passion... doesn't yell... not over the top. Simon: miles better from past weeks... show your personality because personality just as important.
Katie Stevens covered Chain Of Fools by Aretha Franklin. soulful, sassy performance. showed some swagger. Simon: pretty good... but robotic, comes across cold... make it fun... don't listen to Kara's advice... I would take advice from me. true that. who cares about the other judges?
Lee DeWyze chose unfamiliar song. rough, raspy voice did not sound as soulful as I hoped. perhaps because it seemed as if he yelled the high notes. should have taken it down a bit... then it would have been more soulful. liked his performance. total contrast to monotone Casey. Simon: I believe in you... tonight may have changed your life forever.
Crystal Bowersox chose ballad. damn. tempted to fast forward... but watched performance. soulful and passionate. entranced w/ her Nazi color scheme and her muffin top, which she tried to hide w/ a belt. she played the piano. Simon: sensational... you should continue to do what you did before... you're real... don't change.
Aaron Kelly chose ballad. damn. how can night end w/ slow song? fast forward. Simon: not good as last week... okay performance.
too bad Andrew chose a song by Rihanna's abuser. for me... it would have been the best performance of the night. so... fave goes to Katie.
