Whale Wars 2 - Yum Yum, Eat Crow

current song: Let's Start Again by Blazin' Squad

Steve Irwin comes across the entire Japanese whaling/research fleet searching for one of its whalers/researchers who fell overboard. Steve Irwin low on fuel... needs to head back to port soon... the volunteers/terrorists have an opportunity to strike at their enemy.

the volunteers/terrorists say that their clients are the whales. I assume they would strike. what does captain Paul decide to do? he decides to offer help to their clients' enemy. in my opinion... if they really cared about the whales... they would have attacked the Japanese fleet. weak.

the Japanese respond: no thank you... we do not need assistance from eco-terrorists. you go Japan! the US does not deal w/ terrorists... why should the Japanese?

Steve Irwin heads back to port. on the radar a Japanese vessel follows them... volunteers/terrorists dumb struck. helicopter takes to air... sees Steve Irwin being followed by harpoon/research vessel Yushin Maru #3. captain Paul orders crew to launch Gemini and delta boats... throw stank bombs.

helicopter pilot watches the harpoon/research vessel. he notices its crew preparing for Sea Shepherd attack. rather than hide inside the ship and avoid stank bombs... the Japanese protected their ship by erecting a net that covered the entire top. rather than the stank bombs exploding on deck... the stank bombs would bounce off the net. inflatable boats still in pursuit. Yushin Maru #3 makes a u-turn... and outruns the inflatables.

bug eyed. in my opinion... the Japanese basically ran a drill in what to do in case of an attack. they must watch the show. now in order to stop the Japanese... the Sea Shepherds' only option would be to ram into the processing/research vessel.

attack aborted. volunteers/terrorists head back to Steve Irwin. Molly hits her head. bug eyed. possible concussion. thought of Natasha Richardson. Molly immediately sees the ship's doctor... she's okay. whew.

on its way back to port... Steve Irwin encounters rough water. since its low on fuel... ship lighter... more tossin' n turnin'. one crew member slipped... knocked her head... needs stitches near her eye. doctor sews up wound. during the time procedure shown on air... I didn't breathe.

Steve Irwin docks. some volunteers/terrorists decide not to go back sea... including captain Paul's bitch Peter B. hottie Jane Taylor: I'm not seeing him goodbye. a lot of the crew glad Peter B's gone. I wonder if they had a party.

captain Paul receives an envelope w/ a mysterious white powder. ship quarantined.

Pac-10: 11 NCAA Championships in 2008-2009

current song: Heartbreak by Freemasons

the Pac-10... conference of champions... won 11 NCAA titles during the 2008-2009 athletic season. the 2nd cycle in a row of 10+ national championships. the Pac-10 is the only conference to ever win 10+ titles during a season... the 6th time it has achieved this.

the league has less members and earns less revenue... than say the acc and big 10... or big 12 and sec. basically the Pac-10 produced more w/ less. if the Pac-10 launches its own network... more currency for the league. imagine what the Pac-10 can do w/ more resources.

since I started this blog 2 titles have eluded the Pac-10... men's and women's vball. Stanford women runner up the past 2 seasons... USC men runner up this season.

Lunch Wagons & Siam Garden

current song: Stone Cold Sober by Paloma Faith

Lunch Wagons
sister craved a plate lunch. she looked online and found out... according to best of Honolulu 2008... best lunch wagon = You Hungry. never tried the food there. she came to downtown at 12:30... kinda late... I assume most of the popular meals would have been sold out. we walked up to the corner of Alakea and Beretania streets. steak and garlic shrimp sold out. damn... wanted to try that. I wonder if that's their specialty. I wonder how the mac salad tastes.

I personally like Tommy's lunch wagon. walked back down Alakea and headed to Mililani street. wanted to order the garlic chicken plate... but sold out. lots of the good stuff sold out. since I need to gain weight I ordered the hamburger steak. not sure if Tommy sold his lunch wagon biz. hamburger steak so so. mac salad so so. big serving of kim chee. mmmmm.

sister and co-workers ordered garlic chicken plates from Nick's lunch wagon. chicken and the mac salad looked ono.

Siam Garden
sister treated family to dinner. 1st time eating there. I thought the place would be empty... but damn... customers seated at every table. short waiting line too.

spring rolls ono. not into wrapping them in lettuce. none of us did. what a waste of lettuce. pork in the sweet crispy noodles tasted funky. ordered stir friend ong choy w/ beef. beef tasted funky. yellow curry w/ chicken = ono.

plan to go there again to try the pad thai.

Peter B in charge. they're frelled. he's like: no way am I relyin' on ice charts and machines... I got my eyes. sure enough they miss the path.

once again Peter B frells up. he must really be captain Paul's bitch. helicopter pilot looks for an opening. ship backtracks. open ocean. whew. crew sees minke whales surfacing and spouting. they're all excited.

vessel spotted on radar. crew plans to launch gemini boat. gemini has radar that can help crew navigate in dense fog. problem... radar doesn't work... no boat launch. crew vigilant. they come across the Kaiko Maru... a Japanese spotter/research vessel.

Steve Irwin in pursuit. Japanese national on board ship for communication purposes. she hides her identity for fear of retribution to her family back in Japan. she explains that the Japanese view Sea Shepherd crew as terrorists. captain Paul maneuvers his ship close to the spotter/research vessel. crew of volunteers/pirates throw stank bombs. they're all excited. Japanese relay to press they have been attacked by terrorists.

hottie Jane Taylor... w/ her peacekeeper background... wants to implement a plan when it comes time to launch the delta or gemini boats. Peter B gives her a hard time. he's like: I'm soooo anti-military. what?! what a hypocrite. Steve Irwin filled w/ technology developed and 1st used by peacekeeper vessels.

hottie Jane Taylor doesn't wanna deal w/ Peter B's cuntitude. I wouldn't too. she walks away. she presents her plan to captain Paul. he loves it. meeting called... Peter B does not attend. basically crew will follow what Jane suggests. Peter B: I have to listen to the captain... I'm just a guy in the (bare)background. that's right bitch.

Steve Irwin low on fuel and supplies. ship intercepts message... one of the Japanese whalers/researchers fell overboard. Steve Irwin heads toward area. crew sees Japanese whaling/research vessel's spotlight on looking for missing member.

Aquatic & Walking

current song: Work by The Saturdays

Aquatic
chillaxed at the beach early... very early... this morning w/ my sister and one of her friends. beach empty... relatively empty... at the time. low tide... water nice and clear. few people out n about gettin' their exercise on. stayed for only a short time as my sister and her friend had to leave to get ready for their friends' wedding ceremony. now that I lowered the amount of calories I have to burn in order to earn a drank... I can actually just chillax at the beach... or at least take some time to chillax... rather than swim swim swim. she drove my car and I hoped she would have taken out my kick ass noodle chair. she didn't... but still awesome to chillax.

Sorabol

current song: New Divide by Linkin Park

sister and several friends of ours went to Sorabol for lunch. according to my blog... last time sister in town... week of 12.06.08.

I ordered the meat jun. portion now 1 piece of sliced beef. it must have been some time since I last ate at Sorabol because it used to be 2 pieces of sliced beef. same price of $8.50... but less food.

Sorabol's adapted to changes in the market... changes in prices. I then thought about the state's financial situation. governor Lingle's furlough plan makes fiscal sense to me. private sector employees have suffered. if state run as a private or publicly traded company... it would have cut the pay of or layed off some of its employees. for the state workers facing a pay cut... a job is better than no job... adjust finances like everyone else in the private sector. we'll see what happens.

anyway... sister ordered the bulgogi... again portion not as generous. someone ordered one of the combos... again portion not as generous. another friend ordered the soon dubu chi-ke... that looked good.

sides pretty generous. kim chee especially good... tasted sweet. kept asking for more.

drop the cuntitude!

sister in town... she said that I lost weight... that I look sickly. bug eyed. I thought about starting fresh in my dranks vs cardio count... that would be cheating. until I get to my ideal weight... and look healthy... in order to earn a drank I will have to burn off 140 calories. for swimming/running... swim/run for 14 minutes.

at the start of this month... in order to earn a drank I had to burn off 328 calories... roughly 2+ cans of Coke. if I took this into account... then I achieved a cardio victory long ago.

Whale Wars 2 - The Flexibility Of Steel

current song: I Do Not Hook Up by Kelly Clarkson

Peter B clueless in steering vessel. captain Paul to the rescue... he navigates ship safely and brings calm to everyone on the bridge.

Sea Shepherd makes its way to the previous location of the whale processing/research vessel Nisshin Maru... and its nowhere to be seen. crew of volunteers/pirates spot harpoon/research vessel Yushin Maru #2.

Yushin Maru... instead of changing its course... goes about its business. Sea Shepherd crew shocked. the 2 vessels on collision course. captain Paul wants to hit Yushin Maru w/ stank bombs... launch the delta boats.

I assume from last season the volunteers/pirates learned their lesson and perhaps practiced launching the crafts back at port. nope. they have a hard time getting the craft into the water. Yushin Maru speeding away.

when delta boat finally launched... crew heads in the opposite direction of Yushin Maru. whoops. Sea Shepherd loses sight of delta boat. to make matters worse crew on delta boat is not in communication w/ the Sea Shepherd. didn't any of these volunteers/pirates watch last season? everyone on the ship fears for the worse. delta boat returns. captain Paul scolds them.

weather worsens. captain Paul spots a huge ice sheet... wants to ship to remain behind its protective cover. hottie cutie former peacekeeper bad ass Jane Taylor: most mariners would stay clear of any ice. captain Paul should have listened to her. next morning the ship's surrounded by ice. they're frelled.

although they're frelled there doesn't seem to be a sense of panic. at this point I'm wondering if Animal Planet and its production crew are on a nearby ice breaker safely recording all the action. if an ice berg punctures the hull of the Sea Shepherd then its crew of volunteers/pirates will be rescued by the unseen Animal Planet ice breaker vessel.

2 crew members sent down to the ship... to watch for any cracks in the hull. Animal Planet camera man: I'm gonna head on top... I'll just leave my camera here to record the action. crew member: frell!

seriously... what can the 2 guys do if ice punctures the hull?

Whale Wars 2 - Premiere

current song: Candy by Paolo Nutini

surprising 2nd season... must have done well in the ratings for show to be renewed. premiere opens w/ statement that no whales died under the watch of the Sea Shepherd. ich don't tink so.

I assumed Peter Hammarstedt to be a trust fund kid. how else can one volunteer for months and yet survive these economic times? recently he did jail time in Canada protesting the killing of seal pups. anyway... he's only 23 cycles... and is earning a degree.

hottie Jane Taylor served the peacekeepers for 6 cycles. she's cute. a contrast to last season's Kim McCoy and her annoying cuntitude. another cutie on board this season... cutie muffin top Emily.

in this ep... gyroscope acts up, ship rockin' like crazy... volunteers practice throwing stank bombs... on its way to Antarctica ship heads into a massive Australian sized storm... crew gets sea sickness.

Luke Van Horn's the new communications officer. he improved the ship's radar w/ a gadget that can boost its range by 400 miles. from what I understand the gadget can track communication signals. why did Animal Planet air this? for the next whaling (Sea Shepherd viewpoint) or research (Japanese viewpoint) season... wouldn't the Japanese employ gadgets to counteract Van Horn's gadget?

Van Horn's gadget works. ship follows strong signal. helicopter takes off... heads toward signal... spots Nisshin Maru in record time. Nisshin Maru behind ice bergs... Sea Shepherd has thin hull. 1 safe route to Nisshin Maru. 2 ice bergs serve as markers for safe passage... ship needs to make a right at 1st ice berg... then its clear waters.

ship passes 2nd ice berg. whoops. rather than turn around and make a left... captain wants to head straight to Nissin Maru. what an idiot. speaking of idiot... there's Peter Brown at the steering wheel. Peter B: whoever doesn't need to be here... please get out... you guys are foggin' up the glass... someone tell me where to go. Van Horn's yelling out numbers. Peter B: just tell me where to go... those numbers don't do me any good... just tell me where to go. Van Horn: Peter can't translate 270... if it's north, south, east or west... I thought it's a prerequisite.

Walking

Roger Federer - French Open Champion

current song: Did You See Me Coming? by Pet Shop Boys

Roger Federer... in GDR blue... won his 1st French Open title... his 14th major. he now has a career slam... winning each major at least once.

in the 1st game Federer broke Soderling's serve. actually, 1st game a gift from Soderling... he double faulted on break point. Soderling now a verb. stat showed Federer's majors record against opponents ranked outside the top 5... a perfect 111-0. commenting on Nadal's loss to Soderling, Mary Carillo: Roger's never been Soderlinged. Federer went on to win the 1st set 6-0.

bug eyed moment at the start of the 2nd set. freak from the stands made his way towards Federer. security tackled the psycho. set went to a tie breaker. Federer served aces... kicked ass... won set.

announcers talked about Federer's new weapon... a forehand drop shot. I call it a forehand slice. awesome in today's baseline game.

Federer went on to win the 3rd set and the match. awesome.

AVP Atlanta - Hyden/Scott

current song: Heartless by The Fray on Star 101.9 FM

thin beast leads all players in 3 categories... aces, blocks and a 0.512 kill percentage. buffin top Sinjin Smith suggested that teams should serve Phil... test him out... see if he can handle all the jumping match after match.

buff tops Hyden & Scott challenged the Dalhausser block throughout the match. entire match not aired... no spike to Phil's bald head... if any... televised. Hyden & Scott won the 1st set w/ ease 21-14.

after one of the many commercial breaks... Hawaii plug. Sean Scott loves to pig out on Hawaiian food... kalua pig, chicken long rice, pipkaula, and lomi lomi salmon. now I know what to eat to get my pre-pubescent Sean Scott beach vball bod. Hyden & Scott ahead in the 2nd set... somehow they lost it 21-18.

awesome final set. Dalhausser & Rogers had match point at 14-11... w/ Phil serving. kills by Hyden & Scott... along w/ errors by the thin beast & the professor... made set go overtime. in end Hyden & Scott won 19-17.

AVP Atlanta - Branagh/Youngs

current song: That's Not My Name by The Ting Tings on Power 104.3 FM

1st time seeing DeNecochea & Dodd in action. DeNecochea stands 6'4" tall... she's 41 cycles... she's the hot mamma of 2 kids... and she has a 6 pack. damn. Dodd has her own catering business. she gave hottie Holly a big jar of cookies for her birthday. Holly: they were soooo good I didn't wanna share them w/ anyone... ate 'em all myself.

DeNecochea & Dodd won the 1st set 21-19. crucial error in the 2nd set. ahead 19-18... DeNecochea served the ball out. score 19 all. EY getting in shape... no mini-muffin top on display. perhaps Dodd should have given her some cookies. EY serves... ball tickles tape... lands on opponents' side... point... Branagh & EY ahead 20-19. EY serves for the set... Dodd hitting error costs her and DeNecochea 2nd set.

after commercial break Branagh & EY ahead 12-8 in the 3rd set. basically they scored the last points of the game... winning 3rd set 15-8.

Washington - Intercollegiate Rowing Association Champions

current song: Say It by Blue October

although the NCAA does not sponsor men's rowing... Washington won yet another national title for the Pac-10 conference. Cal placed 2nd. 2nd athletic season in a row in which the Pac-10 has won 5 out of 6 aquatic titles.

so far the Pac-10's NCAA title count for this season remains at 11 national championships... most of all conferences. ASU still alive in baseball... outdoor track & field championships being next week.

Washington - NCAA Softball Champions

current song: New In Town by Little Boots

$2.679 per gallon for unleaded gas at Costco.

Washington, which placed 2nd in the regular season Pac-10 conference standings... becomes the 5th Pac-10 school (out of 8 league institutions that sponsor the sport)... to win a national softball title. 4th in a row for the Pac-10... and 21st overall for the conference.

UW's 1st softball title reminds me of UW's 1st vball title. each team played on the road for the duration of the postseason... each team faced a #1 ranked opponent announcers expected to win... Husky fans in purple in the stands... players' hot mommas in the stands cheering on their daughters... each team sweeping its higher ranked opponent to win the national championship. awesome.

a lot of cute softball players. loved watching goddess Stacey Nelson of Florida pitch w/ the wind blowing her blond hair.

Washington's Danielle Lawrie kicked ass. w/ 1 out and her team ahead 3-2 in the top of the 7th inning... 2 Florida players on base... she struck out the last 2 batters. awesome. fist pump from Lawrie... dawg pile.

Washington's softball win makes it 11 national titles so far this athletic season for the Pac-10... most of any conference.

AVP Huntington Beach - Dalhausser/Rogers

current song: Said It All by Take That

Thin Beast and the Professor fastest team to earn $1 million. achieved in 49 matches. of course prize money larger than before.

commenting on their place in history, Kiraly: they're the best w/ today's current game and format. makes sense. would players today be able to play grueling side out vball matches on a larger court? who knows?

methodical win by Dalhausser & Rogers. in the 2nd set... at 13-13... the Thin Beast took over. he blocked balls, touched spikes allowing Rogers to dig the balls, killed balls w/ authoritay, served aces. awesome. they won the 2nd set 21-17. swept Gibb & Rosenthal.

highlight of the match... ball spiked off the Thin Beast's head... flying into the stands.

AVP Huntington Beach - Branagh/Youngs

current song: Finders Keepers by You Me At Six

AVP returned to Pac-10/MPSF country... home to best vball in the universe.

aside from lean machine Branagh... mini-muffin tops on display. close up on Kessy's bandaged side exposed her mini-muffin top. cutest mini-muffin top = April Ross. love it when her pudge jiggles when she jump serves. love her cute grunt.

on Kerri and Misty not playing, buffin top Sinjin Smith: it must be a great feeling for these players... they're takin' advantage of their absence... they're all goin' for it.

Branagh & Youngs won in 2 sets... 21-19, 21-17.

Battle Of The Bulge: Coke 47 - Cardio 0

current song: Beggin' by Madcon

w/ all the exercise I did last month... my eternal battle only improved by 4 dranks? an improvement = an improvement. I've enjoyed my ghetto -athlons. completed a triathlon this afternoon.

for June... to earn a drank... I need to burn off at least 328 calories (down 4% from 342 calories in May)... on cardio machines at the gym. for fun outdoor activities... I need to swim/run 32 minutes on even and 33 minutes on odd solar days. walking not included to earn dranks.

final 30 solar days to complete Spartakiad 5. Spartakiad 6 - Chicago... will begin as soon as I reach Phoenix (from San Francisco) via exercise.

w/ the NBA Finals (go LA!) starting this week I know my dranks count will go up drastically... but this will be counterattacked w/ my all out exercise blitzkrieg to complete my -athlons. I will start out the month on a positive note by completing a quadrathlon tomorrow.

Stanford - NCAA Women's Rowing Champions

current song: Palladio by Escala

Stanford won its 1st NCAA rowing title edging Pac-10 rival Cal. Stanford becomes the 3rd conference school to win a national title in the sport. since only 7 member schools sponsor women's rowing... almost half the conference has won an NCAA title. this past weekend the Pac-10 had 5 institutions... most of any conference... that sent crews to compete.

for the 2nd athletic season in a row, the Pac-10 fell short of sweeping all the aquatic championships. so far the Pac-10 has won 10 NCAA national titles... most in the country.

Washington will play for its 1st national... and the conference's 21st... title in softball. ASU still alive in baseball's postseason.
