America's Next Top Model 11 - Amsterdam

sexy Sheena: girl... I don't know what's in store for me in Amsterdam... all I know is I started this competition too sexy... now I'm being more modelesque. wannabes arrive in Amsterdam... meet w/ Daphne Deckers. who? a former model, she's the host of Holland's Next Top Model. damn... Tyra must be makin' lots of $.

ANTM becomes the Amazing Race. teams of 2 complete a series of tasks... pit stop = their pad in Amsterdam. clue #1 - buy a train ticket to Amsterdam Centraal... clue #2 - find a public phone to receive further instructions... clue #3 - go to Dam Centrum... clue #4 find a pay phone to receive address... clue #5 - take taxi cab to their new establishment. Sheena's like: damn... I thought Amsterdam would be a grimy, dirty place w/ drugs, sex and alcohol.. but it's actually gorgeous. Elina & Samantha arrive 1st. prize = 50 extra frames at the photo shoot. McKey & Sheena thought they won. Sheena: I thought we got there 1st... I started to do a victory lap.

Elina, Analeigh and Marjorie get their lesbian on and chillax in the bath tub. Sheena: what's wrong w/ them?... we were all on an 11 hour flight... and we just raced all around the city. McKey: I'm very frustrated w/ their va-jay-jay sharing party.

Elina goes off about how she wants to live in Amsterdam cuz it reminds her of home. McKey: I'm soooo sick of hearin' her say this n that reminds me of Russia... if she loves this place so much she should have tried out for Holland's Next Top Model.

wannabes go to the Red Light district for their challenge. Redlight Fashion Amsterdam turns brothel rooms into design/er rooms. contestants will model garments in the brothel window. designer Jan Taminiau wants his muses McKey & Sam pose like dolls. they win the challenge and will be invited back to walk the runway during International Fashion Week.

for the photo shoot girls pose on a boat asea. photographer Andy Tan's like: gimme energy... let's rock this boat. Mr. J's like: McKey finally broke out of her shell... it's the most excited I've been on a shoot w/her. liked McKey's photo best. legs so long they start from her shoulders. pic from cwtv.com. sexy Sheena straddles a beam. Elina's so focused on doing well that she tunes Mr. J out. contrast to Marjorie who listened to Mr. J's critique and suggestions. he's like: she worked it rather than letting it get to her head.

at panel judges love McKey's outfit. Tyra's like: you look a little freaky... where has that been all this time? Nigel: I like a little bit of freak. they love her pic too. they also love Marjorie's pic. Tyra's like: we figured out her signature pose... and she's using it. don't care for the hunchback look myself.

McKey's called 1st. 2 of my favs Sheena & Elina in the bottom 2. damn... Sheena eliminated. America has to wait for its yellow fe-vah. sexy Sheena = positive. she's like: I see this as a new beginning rather than an ending. damn right. one of my favs from last cycle... Katarzyna = this week's top model in action. shout out to Elite Model Management: sign up sexy Sheena!

Million Restaurant

current song: Leavin' by Jesse McCartney on Hot 93.9 FM

I'd rather eat than write about food... but I decided to give a shout out to Million Restaurant cuz today I got to hang out w/ my bro. been eating out like cray-zay the past few weeks... but main purpose of this entry = time marker.

Earnest met me at the beach right after I finished work. he decided to get his tan on while I got my aquatic on. totally refreshing. he wanted to catch up some more and talk story while being touristy and watching the sun set.

we tried soju for the 1st time. we got our Korean on by pouring each others' drank. he treated as usual. when I'm around him I really do feel like a little kid... and he's only 1 cycle older than me. I know I am everyone else's best friend... but I know my bro is mine.

I hardly write anything personal in this blog... but under the 'piggin' out' label I can easily look up the time he spent here in the islands. his visit the past several solar days = awesome memories.

completed and mailed some tax papers to avoid an audit. I should be expecting a refund from the state. voted for my candidates and the various amendments. before putting currency in the parking meter I looked at my change to see if I had any new state quarters. of all the states I got Arizona.

went walking around Kahala w/ friend Uremia and her dogs. I'll try to continue this on Tuesdays. I don't understand how someone can live a sedentary lifestyle. at least get off of your non-lean ass and walk around the neighborhood... even for 15 minutes. how easy is that?

went swimming in the vast Pacific Ocean. totally chillin'. vog filled the sky making it look overcast. empty beach. another solar day of shallow water swimming. water at the perfect temperature so I chillaxed for a few minutes. spotted friend Jake running like a mad man. I gotta give him a call... use him as a pacer. all these people doing aquatic activities, walking, running... beautiful sight to see. health health health. love it.

got to hang out w/ my older bro Earnest... played vball and got some dranks afterwards. miss my bro... haven't seen him in cycles. plan to go to the beach tomorrow before he leaves for the mainland. totally positive solar day.

Amazing Race 13 - Siem Reap, Cambodia

7 teams remain. 1st to leave pit stop... Ken & Tina... at 06:03. clue instructs them to travel to Siem Reap, Cambodia... find a gas station to get the next clue. pic from wikipedia.org. Ken's like: we're not doin' too bad for an old man and old woman. Tina's like: oh no you di'int... speak for yourself.

insecure Terence and hottie lookin' like Molly Sarah 2nd to leave at 08:19. the fast forward gave Ken & Tina a little lead. zipping along to the airport the New Zealand popo stop Terence for speeding. Terence: I'm soooo sorry officer... officer: that's ok girl... Sarah: I thought you were a slow driver girlfriend... Terence: you're such an ass for saying that to someone who just got a speeding ticket... Sarah: you're a good driver girlfriend.

Ken & Tina arrive at the airport w/ their flight about to take off. Terence & Sarah beg and plea at the ticket counter to get on that same flight. they have tickets. off Sarah goes. insecure Terence's like: I wanna be 1st... you're always outrunning me at the gate... I wanna be 1st... boo hoo hoo. Sarah's like: sorry Mary. 1st 2 teams on their way to Singapore.

other teams arrive at the airport. Kelly & Christy comment that Dallas' hair looks a little 'teen wolf'. Dallas: they think they're God's gift to the earth... I wonder how fugly they'd look w/out any makeup. shout out to hot mamma Toni: kick Kelly & Christy's asses for callin' you 'wolf mother'.

Aja & Ty last to leave pit stop at 15:04... almost 9 hours behind Ken & Tina. all the other teams on the same flight from Singapore to Cambodia. no matter how CBS edits the footage... Aja & Ty will be eliminated.

teams arrive in Siem Reap. taxi cab race to the clue. exciting whenever teams catch a cab... they have no control. Nick & Starr 1st to clue, which instructs them to choose a truck... use a hand pump to fill its gas tank... receive the next clue from the attendant. frat boys have pumping issues. they watch how Ken's doing. he's like: it's easy... it's like pulling your zipper down and lettin' it flow.

next clue... gas filled truck and its driver will take teams to Siem Reap Harbor along the Tonlé Sap, the largest freshwater lake in SE Asia... take taxi boat to Kho Andeth, a floating restaurant... find the next clue.

awesome race via taxi cabs... trucks... boats. teams jockeying for position. lots of movement. love Sarah. she learned how to say 'fast fast fast' in Cambodian. too bad their boat broke down. insecure Terence in drama queen nervous breakdown mode. the boat almost made it to Kho Andeth... instead he had to use a pole vault sized stick to move the boat toward the restaurant. Terence: Sarah!... tell me how much farther I have to row. Sarah must have a good disposition. after her panic attack she's all smiles. laughing, she's like: good job girlfriend... good job in rowing the boat.

detour... village life or village work. in village life teams take their boat to pick up 3 items, teeth from a dentist... doll from a tailor... basketball at a floating court and make a 1 shot each. in village work teams search for 2 fish filled traps... deliver traps to a dock... transfer fish into baskets. hot mamma Toni & Dallas decide to do village life. Dallas' like: it's like waterworld. hot mamma Toni kicked ass in this physical detour.

next clue instructs teams to go to Angor Wat to find next clue. roadblock... 1 team member searches the vast structure for a small room called the chamber of echo... thump chest to make sound echo by standing in a specific spot in that room. Nick 1st to complete. next clue... pit stop at Bayon Temple. Nick & Starr win a trip to St. John. Aja & Ty eliminated.

Big 10 Volleyball: #1 Penn State 3 - #21 Wisconsin 0

current song: Who's Crying Now by Journey on KPOI 105.9 FM

single released in 1981. UK #1 27 cycles ago... It's My Party by Dave Stewart & Barbara Gaskin.

love Nicole Fawcett. her feline facial features make her look like a cheetah. kinda sexy. at 6'4" she can do everything w/ power and grace. she can kill from all areas of the court... she can block w/ authoritay... she can pass and dig w/ ease (so no need for a libero). love Christa Harmotto too. in the 2nd set Christa = blocking machine. totally awesome.

in all 3 sets Wisconsin actually had leads... but couldn't sustain them. Penn State swept yet another opponent. this season the vball team so far has a perfect record and has won all its sets. damn.

announcers gave a shout out to the top setters in the country... among them the blond goddesses of the Pac-10... Carli Lloyd of Cal and my honey Nellie Spicer of UCLA.

Pac-10 Volleyball: #5 Stanford 3 - #10 UCLA 1

current song: Disturbia by Rihanna on Hot 93.9 FM

around the Pac-10... #14 USC upset #4 Cal in 5 sets... #7 Oregon swept Arizona... and Arizona State upset #24 Oregon State. Pac-10 again should shake thangs up in the national polls. how would coaches rank Cal and Stanford next week? currently they're both tied atop the conference w/ 8-1 records... this weekend Cal split while Stanford won both its matches against the LA schools... but last week Cal won at Stanford.

October = breast cancer awareness month. most of the players had pink ribbons in their hair... UCLA's white home uniforms had a splash of pink... pink/white vball too. Holly McPeak even wore a conservative pink dress. 1st time this season Holly hasn't shown off her personalities.

I watched this match to see my honey Nellie Spicer in action. love her. she's healthy this year... making her even more awesome. this blond vball goddess quarterbacks a very fast offense. coaches want her to set the balls to her hitters in < 1.2 seconds. quite a contrast to the Trojan setter... hottie Taylor Carico... who seems to run the slowest offense in the Pac-10.

next week's televised Pac-10 match will be between the Arizona schools.

Amazing Race 13 - Auckland, New Zealand

at 00:33 Ken & Tina 1st team to receive their clue, which instructs them to fly to Auckland ... go to Gulf Harbour... untie a huge knot... and receive their next clue. pic from wikipedia.org. at 01:20 Kelly & Christy last... less than an hour separates all teams. the 12 hour mandatory rest period must screw up the body's internal clock.

on the way to the airport... Dallas' like: my mamma sees me more as an adult on this race... Marisa & Brooke: 'do you think they like blonds in New Zealand?' 'I'm sure they love blonds cuz it's not like we're rare'.

at the airport Andrew & Dan help out the blondies. frat boys explain: we don't mind helpin' them cuz they're weak... they're also cute. Aja & Ty fight. she knows they're all gonna be on the same flight and wants to go to the ticket counter while he wants to continue to look for an earlier flight online. Ty's like: girl... you need to work on your attitude... you're like a dictator... I'm gonna start callin' you Fidel Castro... I gotta get me a shirt that says 'I'm with Fidel'.

in Auckland, Terence & Sarah 1st team on their way to Gulf Harbour. while driving insecure Terence's like: I need a little love... touch my hair. gimme a break. hottie Molly Shanon Sarah tells Terence to make a right turn. he's like: sorry... I gotta go straight... ooops it's the wrong way... boo hoo hoo... what do I do now?... boo hoo hoo... other teams have passed us... boo hoo hoo. continuing to pet her hair, Sarah's like: it's okay girl... all you have to do is make a u-turn girlfriend... there there... calm down girl... stop crying girlfriend.

meanwhile Aja's being positive w/ Ty. she's like: damn boy look at you go... you're such an awesome driver. the car gets a flat tire. he's like: I don't know how to change a flat. Aja's like: help! help! help!

at Gulf Harbour, frat boys 1st to untie the knot. clue instructs them to drive to Mount Eden... a dormant volcano and the highest peak in Auckland. clue also has 1 of 2 fast forwards, which instructs teams to go to Auckland Skytower where they have to use the maintenance ladders to climb from the sky deck to the top and pick up a friend... the Travelocity gnome.

Ken & Tina and the frat boys race to the Skytower. Ken & Tina get there 1st. while climbing to the top the tower sways like cray-zay. looks freaky. they get their gnome... clue tells them to proceed to the pit stop via helicopter ride... Phil tells them they won a trip to Rio during Carnival.

frat boys and everyone else on their way to Mount Eden. Terence & Sarah get there 1st. roadblock. 1 team member picks an image of a traditional Maori tattoo and matches the image on the face of one of the hundreds of Maori actin' all tribal. if correct team member gets next clue... if wrong, start all over again... as w/ Terence. he's like: boo hoo hoo... this is the hardest thing I've ever done... boo hoo hoo. Sarah's like: it's okay girl... don't get discouraged... don't cry girlfriend. Terence completes the roadblock. he's like: oh my gawd... that was soooo hard. Sarah's like: that's the most courageous thing you've ever done. huh?

clue instructs them to go to the City Life Hotel... go to the rooftop... use binoculars to spot a Travelocity gnome somewhere in the city... retrieve it... and get the next clue, which instructs teams to go to Kiwi 360.

detour... matter of time or matter of skill. in matter of time teams drive to a kiwi orchard where they had to crush enough kiwi fruit w/ their bare feet to make 12 quarts of juice and then drink a glass for the next clue. totally gross. totally unsanitary. teams racing to the pit stop and so they're sweating profusely. sweat mixed in w/ kiwi juice. frellin' gross. Terence & Sarah complete detour quickly... arrive at pit stop 2nd.

in matter of skill teams drive to Blokart Heaven... choose 2 kits to assemble their blokarts... drive around the track 3 times for their next clue. hot mamma Toni & Dallas kick ass. Starr's vehicle turns over and she hurts/breaks her arm. pobrecita. blond belles Marisa & Brooke eliminated.

Pac-10 Volleyball: #5 Stanford 3 - #14 USC 1

current song: Caribbean Queen by Billy Ocean on KSSK 92.3 FM

single released in 1984. UK #1 24 cycles ago... Freedom by Wham!.

Stanford won at USC in 4 sets tonight. 1st time this season seeing USC in action... not impressed by the Women of Troy. hottie Trojan setter Taylor Carico runs a slow, predictable offense... but she doesn't have powerful attackers like Asia Kaczor who can kill the ball w/ authoritay. blond hottie Jessica Gysin... freshman Alex Jupiter... and cutey 6'4" middle blocker Lauren Williams... all struggled tonight. either the USC offense needs to be faster... or the hitters need to become stronger... hmmm... maybe both... for USC to improve in the 2nd half of the Pac-10 season before the NCAAs.

Cardinal hotties Barboza and Klineman also struggled tonight... but ebony goddess Akinradewo kicked ass. Foluke can kill... she can block... she can dig... she can even quick set. love her. also love the pale setters Cassidy Lichtman and Joanna Evans. ladies... please come to Hawaii... let's get a tan... become beach vball bronze.

around the Pac-10 tonight... #6 Washington swept WSU... #7 Oregon swept ASU... #24 Oregon State swept Arizona... and #4 Cal beat #10 UCLAin 5 sets to remain perfect in conference play.

I should go honu hunting during the invasion before and/or after a run. should be able to spot honu heads from the shore.

America's Next Top Model 11 - Commercial

current song: What I've Done by Linkin Park on Star 101.9 FM

single released in 2007. UK #1 1 cycle ago... About You Now by Sugababes.

wannabes talk story. Elina: I'm a reserved person cuz I'm from Europe... Marjorie: I agree, the judges don't understand us cuz we're European... Sam: haven't you adapted to being in America since you've lived here the past 11 cycles?... Sheena: Elina, don't you like living in America? the reserved European hottie Elina cries. to the camera, Sheena gives a shout out: my mamma's foreign and she has an accent... I embrace America. she should have added: Marjorie... don't gimme that bullshit the judges don't understand the 2 of you cuz 2 of the judges are European too.

the swirl and twirl twins, Ron & Richard Harris, give the contestants lessons on how to make accessories come alive. damn Sheena... work that scarf. she's like: I can turn this scarf into a dress.

interesting challenge. girls wear skin tight green material from head to toe that makes them invisible on a tv screen. focus will be on the clothes. winner will be the one who makes her clothing the 'star of the night'. Joslyn shows off her stripper moves... Marjorie's dress fell off exposing her green material covered personalities... Elina freaks out cuz she couldn't breathe. as the challenge winner, Elina picks Marjorie and Analeigh to join her in a photo shoot that will appear in a holiday issue of Seventeen.

at the establishment Sam says something w/ a strong Asian accent. one of the other gals says that it's offensive. Sheena's like: I'm Asian... I didn't find that offensive. blah blah blah blah blah. Marjorie tells Elina that Sheena basically called her a hypocrite for posing in a holiday spread when she doesn't even like Christmas.

I really don't understand Europeans... but when I heard the word hypocrite, that's how I view the Europeans to be. they're like: hey world, save the animals but we'll kill rare wild bears in the alps... hey world, save the environment but we want to keep Europe clean and so we'll export our toxic waste to pollute other countries... hey Russia you better leave Georgia alone or face sanctions but let us continue to buy oil to power our pathetic EU economy. hmmm... I should look more into Europe's toxic waste trade.

speaking of Europe Tyra tells the contestants they'll all be going to Amsterdam... but there's still an elimination. Tyra can be so cruel. loved Sheena's commercial best. she glided across the room. Miss J's like: it's called the Sheena inky slink. Paulina's like: she's like a rattlesnake. judges loved Analeigh's commercial best. Tyra's like: this has to be the best Top Model commercial ever... it blew me away that I fell into the arms of Nigel Barker... and I got to feel up his shoulders. Sheena's called 2nd. Joslyn's eliminated.

The Big Spike: #5 Cal 3 - #4 Stanford 1

current song: Crank That by Soulja Boy on Hot 93.9 FM

in the 10.13 CBS CS/AVCA poll... 7 Pac-10 teams ranked... #4 Stanford, #5 Cal, #6 Oregon, #7 UW, #10 UCLA, #11 USC and #25 Oregon State. Friday night UW upset Oregon in yet another 5 set match for Washington... while Arizona upset USC in 5 sets today.

Cal and Stanford played in last year's national semifinals... each losing to national champion Penn State. Penn State = scary. prior to this match, each team had perfect conference records... 6-0 in matches... 18-0 in sets. Cal won in 4 sets... the 1st time it won at Stanford since 1979. UK #1 29 cycles ago... Message In A Bottle by The Police.

learned something new today in Karch's Chronicles. he explained hitting zones. right side hitter in zone 1... middle blocker in zone 2... left side hitter in zone 3. to mix things up the hitters would go into other zones to basically throw off the opposing teams' blockers and diggers. very intricate and fast paced. awesome.

Cal libero Kristen Kathan = digging machine. entire Cal team = digging machine. 4th set had long rallies. awesome. should come in handy come tournament time to defeat Penn State.

love blond hottie Cal setter Carli Lloyd. she reminds me of former UW setter Courtney Thompson. very intense. also love the Cardinal setter Cassidy Lichtman. Cassidy = bad ass. she can set... she can attack... she can block... she can dig. I dig you Cassidy... come to Hawaii... let's go to the beach and get a tan.

most of the players had pink ribbons in their hair to support Dig for the Cure... benefiting Susan G Komen for the Cure.

Big 10 Volleyball: #12 Minnesota 3 - MSU 1

current song: Gotta Be Somebody by Nickelback on Star 101.9 FM

I wanted to see Minnesota gopher muffin top hottie Kyla Roehrig in action. a 6'4" outside hitter from Nebraska (I gotta eat more corn)... she's big... she's bad... she's burly.

1st set... all these blond vball hotties on the court... including gopher middle blocker Lauren Gibbemeyer. but where's muffin top hottie Roehrig? announcer mentioned that's she's recovering from shoulder surgery and that she may enter the match later for blocking duty. damn. Michigan State... down set point to 19... staged a furious comeback... only to lose the set 25-23.

I forwarded the match and saw hottie Roehrig in action. Minnesota won in 4 sets. I'll watch miss muffin top another night. gotta watch #5 Cal at #4 Stanford. should be an intense Pac-10 match.

Walking
Sportline pedometer - 1.11 miles

Triumph of the Will
  • 1.5 miles swimming - 0.75 miles non-stop
in my previous post I wrote that I may attempt a sprint triathlon for my 4th Spartakiad, set to being in the new cycle. then again I have to finish my 3rd Spartakiad. I know I can breaststroke w/ ease... but then I want to switch to freestyle once I complete this challenge. I still have to get over my paranoia and fear of the non-existent sharks at Ala Moana beach.
  • 15 lbs weight gain - -1 = 16
I have to pig out like cray-zay. at the start of this goal I needed to gain .17 lbs each solar day. now I have to gain .21 lbs each solar day until the end of the cycle.
  • 150 miles running - 6.81 = 143.19
this challenge only includes distances ran while wearing sneakers. at the start of this challenge I needed to run an average of 1.78 miles each solar day. now I have to run 1.90 miles each solar day remaining to realize this goal.
  • 500 miles walking - 30.79 = 469.21
walking includes mileage from my pedometer and the elliptical machines at the gym. at the start I needed to average 5.95 miles each solar day. w/ 75 solar days left, I have to average 6.25 miles.
  • 1,500 abdominals - 97 = 1,403
at the start of this final challenge I needed to average 17.8 abs related exercises each solar day. now I have to average 18.7 to realize this goal.

Ironman World Championships

current song: Love Lockdown by Kanye West on Da Bomb 102.7 FM

this post labeled 'amazing race' because I do find this 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and 26.2 mile run competition amazing.

in today's Honolulu Advertiser sports section I saw a pic of this dude under the heading Honolulu's Marr shows he is an elite triathlete. obsessed w/ friend Ann's gang cuz they make exercise look so easy... and I thought the guy in the pic, Tim Marr, to be one of the triathlete gang members. he's the top triathlete from Hawaii... he set a goal to place in the top 20... and he finished 15th overall. amazing. another dude from Hawaii, John Flanagan, took up the sport 10 months ago and finished 78th overall, 2nd among Hawaii finishers, and 1st among Hawaii amateurs. amazing. he stood in 2nd place after the swimming leg... 1 second behind another dude from Hawaii, Noa Sakamoto. amazing.

there's even the CEO Ironman World Championships... a race w/in the overall race. a dude from Honolulu, Aaron Wallen... president of Haas Insulation, placed 1st and has bragging rights to being the planet's fittest CEO. amazing.

how do these ordinary people compete in and complete this race? I came across sprint triathlons... 0.5 mile swim, 12.4 mile bike, and 3.1 mile run. I can swim (my powerful breaststroke) for 0.5 mile... I can bike (in the gym) for 10+ miles... and I can run (on a treadmill) for 2+ miles. perhaps I'll do a sprint triathlon as one of the challenges for my 4th Spartakiad.

Project Runway 5 - Leanne Marshall Wins

current song: Crawling by Linkin Park on Star 101.9 FM

single released in 2001. UK #1 7 cycles ago... Can't Get You Out Of My Head by Kylie Minogue.

Leanne Marshall massacred all the ladies and gentleman Joe. based on the designs from the 1st challenge I thought Daniel, Terri and Wesley would make it to the finals. totally off. but I did take a liking to Leanne right away. why? she said, "I'm a silent fashion assassin." ooooo baby. love that line.

she also reminded me of Shandi from the 2nd cycle of America's Next Top Model... the shy, normal, next door gal, introvert contestant who... when in Rome... unleashed her sexual prowess on a lucky male model. speaking of ANTM... spotted Naima (cycle 4 winner) in the cattle call. and... Danielle (cycle 6 winner) and Bianca (cycle 9 contestant) walked and worked the runway for Korto.

not impressed by the overall collections. still can't compare to Jay McCarroll... but spotting the ANTM contestants made the final ep entertaining.

WAC Volleyball - New Mexico State 3 - #6 Hawaii 0

current song: I Won't Back Down by Tom Petty on KPOI 105.9 FM

single released in 1989. UK #1 19 cycles ago... Ride On Time by Black Box.

what the frell happened? actually went to see tonight's match live at the Stan Sheriff Center... expecting a Wahine victory... but New Mexico State upset #6 Hawaii in 3 sets. when UH lost the 1st set I thought they would come back to win. UH led 8-1 at the start of the 2nd set. then the offense qbed by Dani Mafua became too predictable... she kept setting her left outside hitters. seriously... set after set after set... she kept going outside left. she surprised me when she would actually back set once in a great while. right side hitters must have been surprised too... must have caught them off guard cuz they kept hitting the balls out. UH eventually lost the 2nd set 26-24. ok ok ok... gotta win 3 sets... bought myself another large Heineken... expecting Hawaii to win in 5 sets... and hoping to get drunk. but no... offense still predictable. shout out to the New Mexico State libero, the cutie digging machine.

earlier on tv I watched the Pac-10 Oregon schools' vball civil war. quite a contrast between the Pac-10 and the WAC. local girl Camila Ah-Hoy runs the offense for Oregon State. she kicked ass. she distributed the ball to all her hitters and she dinks/attacks as well. if Mafua qbed a Pac-10 squad, would she set like Ah-Hoy?... be less predictable?

Pac-10 Volleyball: #7 Oregon 3 - #24 Oregon State 0

current song: This Is Why I'm Hot by Mims on Power 104.3 FM

single released 2007. UK #1 1 cycle ago... About You Now by Sugababes.

100th match between the Oregon schools. 100 matches? damn. both teams ranked in the top 25 for the 1st time since 1990. UK #1 18 cycles ago... Show Me Heaven by Maria McKee. 5 other Pac-10 squads ranked as well including #4 Stanford and #5 Cal. w/ Stanford victorious over ASU today, the Bay Area schools each have perfect conference records. the Big Spike will be the Pac-10 vball match of the week. should be... in the words of Christian Siriano... fierce.

Oregon coach Jim Moore reminds me of UW coach Jim McLaughlin. they each took over lower echelon conference teams... cellar dwellers... and made them competitive in the Pac-10. in McLaughlin's 5th year Washington won its 1st and the Pac-10's last national championship in 2005. it's Moore's 4th season as head coach and I wonder if his team of beautiful blond vball goddesses will make it to the national semifinals.

head coach Taras Liskevych wants his OSU squad to kick ass as well. when Holly McPeak... again showing off her personalities... interviewed Liskevych, he's like: it's a long process... the Pac-10 is very difficult, it's so good... great coaches, great teams... we beat each other up every week... it takes some time to get used to.

awesome match. Oregon swept OSU. the Oregon schools visit the WA schools next weekend.

America's Next Top Model 11 - Fiercee Awards

current song: Disturbia by Rihanna on Power 104.3 FM

wannabe models talk story. Elina: I'm soooo controlling cuz of my Ukranian mom... Lauren Brie: I feel like I'm going home. wannabes also loathe on each other. Sheena: Lauren Brie's smart but she's not an exciting girl... Elina: Analeigh, you don't look like a model.

contestants meet w/ Tyra. she's like: hey y'all... Miss J teaches signature walks... I'm gonna teach signature poses... for Gisele, it's her back... for me, it's my eyes. she then shows different emotions through her eyes. amazing. photographer Jim De Yonker takes 20 pics of each girl. for the 1st 10 frames, girls free to utilize their strengths. they then get to see their pics and get pointers from Tyra to improve their pics for the remaining shots.

Sam knows her strengths are her hands... Tyra tells her to think more like Edward Scissorhands. Sheena feels like a diva and knows not to be too hoochie... Tyra's like: you and I have big personalities... relax your chest... do an African dance. huh? Marjorie understood the lesson. she's like: I'm the Hunchback of Notre Dame. after seeing the initial pics Tyra tells Marjorie not to arch her back as much. total transformation in the next 10 frames.

Tyra tells the wannabes that lesson actually a challenge and that Marjorie won. she gets to pick a friend (Analeigh) to each pick out a diamond necklace at Rafinity. Analeigh chose a $3200 diamond peace sign while Marjorie chose an $8700 diamond square. damn. I will win the Mega Millions. I will win currency to buy me some bling.

for the photo shoot girls go to the Orpheum Theatre in downtown LA. this weekend in Pac-10 vball, the LA schools host the WA schools. tonight, #10 UW beat #11 USC in 5 sets while #8 UCLA swept WSU. idea inspired from Tyra's Fiercee Awards.. the wannabes will portray award show blunders and embarrassing moments. photographer Mike Rosenthal.

1st up Marjorie, who portrays the star who wants to pee but can't get out of her dress. my favorite shot also judges' fav. pic from cwtv.com. Rosenthal's like: work w/ your awkwardness... gimme a look that's not a regular model face. Sam's the actress who can't read the cue cards due to the blinding lights. for some reason she's speaking w/ an accent. Mr. J and I are like: huh? Elina's the over the top emotional actress who cries during her acceptance speech. what?... Elina crying? oh... make up artists give her a fake tear... but Mr. J wants real tears. he becomes Dr. Phil and asks her questions that actually make her cry gator tears. Lauren Brie's the actress who trips while going onstage. looks to controlled. Joslyn's a celeb who sees another wearing the exact same gown. Rosenthal's like: stop looking bitchy... look surprised.

the judges liked Analeigh, who portrayed a bitchy interviewer. Miss J's like: ooooo girl... look at that... you're wastin' my time... child, move on... child, move on... ooooo child, next. judges feel sexy Sheena's going downhill. she's in the bottom 2 this week. what's happening to Sheena? after her makeover she just seems like a regular Asian girl here in Honolulu... and her pics haven't impressed me. bring it Sheena. bring back the Sheena who's like: America.. you aint' ready fo this yellow fee-va... one time fo the Asians. Lauren Brie goes home.

Project Runway 5 - Finale

current song: Dangerous by Kardinal Offishall on Hot 93.9 FM

purrty Kenley's still pissed: the other designers sabotaged me... I'm gonna bring it... I'm gonna win. she leaves while the other ladies have a group hug.

Tim visits Korto in Little Rock, Arkansas. huh? Korto's inspired by nature... wants to make her collection ethnic but not ethnic. Tim comments on a green garment: it looks sexual... look at that snatch... I'm a friend, not foe... overall, your collection's sensational... stunning. Korto introduces Tim to her family. he adores her daughter, the little princess. Korto stays in touch w/ her roots... likes to play traditional drums to chillax... puts on a show for Tim. she's like: I came from Liberia... my dad worked for the gov'ment... family had to flee... couldn't go back cuz daddy would've been executed... I just wanna tell my daughter that even if you fall, you don't have to stay there... keep going up up up.

Tim visits silent fashion assassin Leanne in Portland, Oregon. Pac-10 vball match of the week will be between the Oregon schools... #7 Oregon hosts #24 Oregon State... the vball civil war. should be yet another awesome Pac-10 game. Leanne goes to the waterfront for inspiration. wave patterns in her designs. they go for a tandem bike ride in the park.

Tim visits Jerell in LA. this weekend the LA schools host the WA schools. tonight #11 USC swept WSU while #10 UW upset #8 UCLA in 5 sets. awesome conference. Jerell's like: I'm hopin' for that 2nd wind... I'm doin' all evenin' gowns... I'm mixin' textures. Tim doesn't like his asymmetrical wedding dress: the personalities looks like they're gonna pop out... you should give it some stability... edit it... make it believable... are you still gonna introduce me to your family and friends?... wow... your sister looks stunning. she does look stunning.

Tim visits purrty Kenley in Brooklyn. she's like: I do value Tim's opinion even though it may seem I don't... I hope he loooves my line... I worked soooo hard on it... I'm doin' Alice In Wonderland. Tim comments: hey... is that rope around the neck?... don't you think of people hanging themselves?... wow... your wedding dress should come out last. Kenley's like: hell no I don't think of people committing suicide... I associate ropes w/ being around my boat captain dad... I may have a chance to win it all.

designers head back to NYC. in the presidential suite Korto's like: I don't wanna room w/ Kenley. Leanne's like: I don't wanna room w/ Kenley... I don't want any drama. Jerell's like: you bitches... I guess I have to room w/ Kenley. the ladies have a group hug. Kenley walks in: hey... sorry about being a bitch to y'all.

Tim tells the ladies that they have 1 last challenge... to create a bridesmaid dress to go along w/ the wedding dress. Korto comments on Jerell's approach: I think Jerell's bridesmaid dress is fugly... when I got married I wanted all the gals to be pretty... to y'all ladies out there... ain't nuthin' wrong w/ bridesmaids lookin' cute too.

Tim checks on the contestants. he likes Kenley's 'spirit' and 'flavor'... but doesn't seem to be wowed by Jerell's design. to Leanne: I noticed you have a new wedding dress... the 1st dress I saw felt like a masterful technical piece not making music... now it's making music. he tells Korto that it seems she's created another wedding dress. Tim cries: you all work so hard... I apologize for my outburst... I love you all.

on the day of the runway show Kenley's like: I thought I was the only one who did a short bridesmaid dress... but I noticed Leanne and Korto shortened their dresses... I'm pissed off. no clear cut favorite for me this week... I liked Kenley's wedding design best and Leanne's bridesmaid design best. judges liked both of them. Heidi's like: Kenley... I can see you wearing that dress at your wedding. Kenley's like: oh... my... gawsh... I... looove... you. totally surprised. I honestly thought the judges would eliminate Kenley. instead Jerell's out.

Spartakiad 3 - Triumph Of The Will

current song: When I Grow Up by Pussycat Dolls on Da Bomb 102.7 FM

when I grow up I wanna look like a prepubescent Sean Scott or prepubescent Matt Biondi.

initially my 3rd Spartakiad would have lasted for 50 solar days and end 11.27.08, on Thanksgiving. 50's a nice number to do calculations... and Thanksgiving would have been an easy date to remember... but I will give myself until the end of the cycle to complete the challenges. 84 solar days sounds like a funky number... but I know the Friday after Thanksgiving I will be in holiday mode until 2009. this way I know I will get off my glutes and remain active.

I decided to call my 3rd Spartakiad 'Triumph Of The Will' w/ its theme song being I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) by The Proclaimers.

challenges include:
  • 1.5 miles swimming
  • 15 lbs weight gain
  • 150 miles running
  • 500 miles walking
  • 1,500 sit ups
I failed to realize 2 of my Spartakid 2 'SS' challenges... the 15 minutes freestyle and 15 lbs weight gain. I like the breaststroke... and so the swimming challenge for this Spartakiad will be swimming 1.5 miles continuously. from life guard station 1... to station 2... back to station 1, I estimate this to be .25 miles. this will roughly be 6 laps. when I realize this challenge then I will attempt to freestyle 1.5 laps or 15 minutes... whichever comes 1st.

ideally I want to gain 17 lbs by the end of the year... but I like the numbers 1 and 5 and so I want to gain at least 15 lbs.

the 150 miles running challenge will not include sand running, which I enjoy. distances will include the treadmill at the gym and from running around Ala Moana. I have to get another pedometer and set it to my running stride length. I would have to run an average of 1.78 miles each solar day.

the 500 miles walking challenge will include the elliptical machines at the gym and from my pedometer. I would have to average 5.95 miles each solar day. totally doable.

kinda afraid to attempt 1,500 sit ups. w/ my ongoing Battle of the Bulge I fear that if I don't earn all my dranks of Coke and get rid of my little pooch, I'd have one solid gut. I would have to average 17.8 sit ups each solar day.

keeping track of all the numbers should be interesting.

Spartakiad 2 - The SS

current song: We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions by Queen on KPOI 105.9 FM

final SS results:
  • 15 minutes freestyle - 3 minutes = 20% of target
  • 1500 push ups - 1,569 = 4.6% above target
  • 15 lbs weight gain - 4 lbs = 26.6% of target
only realized 1 of the 3 Spartakiad 2 challenges. kinda disappointed. I really don't care to freestyle at the beach. I like to know where I'm swimming... that's why I'm so comfortable w/ the breaststroke. excuses excuses excuses.

over the course of 45 solar days, I averaged 34.8 push ups each night... but I actually did push ups for 27 solar days, an average of 58.1 each night. when (not if) I continue to do my push ups, I plan to do between 35-60 for those nights I get back from the gym after working out my prepubescent Sean Scott upper body. no push ups (rest period) for the times I work out on my quads and/or calves.

as for the weight gain I pigged out like crazy... but w/ the insane amount of cardio I do I had a feeling I would not be able to put on the lbs.

now it's time for Spartakiad 3 - Triumph of the Will

Honolulu Zoo - Sumatran Tiger Cubs

love the big cats. 3 week old Sumatran tiger cubs born at the Honolulu Zoo... 1st tigers to be born at the zoo since 1981. they look awesome and healthy. pic from honoluluadvertiser.com. UK #1 27 cycles ago... Prince Charming by Adam and the Ants.

I last went to the zoo on a holiday when a friend of mine used to paddle. her paddling club had boats entered to race at the Waikiki regatta held every cycle on the 4th of the July. she asked me if I wanted to watch the races and chill w/ her paddling friends. I get along w/ every person she introduces me to... but at the time I felt out of place surrounded by all these fit, athletic paddlers. she paddled in one of the last races and so I decided to go to the zoo before watching her race.

at the zoo I immediately went to the big cats... but they must have been shy or sleeping cuz I didn't see any. I remember I got to pet an elephant the keepers brought out to show. I always wanted to check out Zoorotica. it's held Valentine's night. the zoo provides night vision goggles so that adults may be able to see animals recreating.
