Project Runway 5 - Sandra Bernhard

ep actually titled Bright Lights/Big City, begins w/ Daniel saying he misses his boyfriend Wesley. initially I had Wesley as being 1 of the final 3 based on his yellow outfit from the 1st runway show. my predictions for the top 3... silent fashion assassin Leanne, zoologist wannabe Daniel... and getting hotter, prettier, cuter each time she's on screen Kenley.

(I think I'm interesting cuz I have blue hair and refer to myself in the 3rd person) Suede gets to decide if the designers will switch models. she's like: Suede wants to stick w/ her model. enough already. Heidi tells the ladies and the 1 gentleman Joe that Tim will take them out that night.

(I think I'm interesting cuz I'm an urban black chick w/ my fake tan and end every word w/ -licious) Blayne should shut the frell up too. she should have been eliminated after the 1st challenge. she's like: oh hi Timlicious.

rainy night... designers board a double-decker bus and take a tour of the city. (I think I'm interesting cuz I'm a rock grannie) Stella's like: oh... I'm so tough... but even though this is cheesy I'm havin' fun. divided into 4 groups, the bus stops at various destinations and the contestants get to take pics for an hour. they have a $100 budget to shop at Mood for the 1st time. they have to create a look inspired by NYC at night.

designers start to work on their outfits. the bitch in Kenley comes out. she's like: hmmm... looking around the room everybody's outfit looks fugly... Emily's looks old, done, and cliche. Stella hammers away at her outfit. the sound annoys the other designers. she's like: leather this... leather that... I live rock-n-roll... I'll die rock-n-roll... if ya don't like it, get the fuck outta hea.

Tim checks up on the contestants. he's like: Jennifer, you have a lot of work to do... Keith, does your dress have any shape?... Kenley, don't make your dress costumey... Leanne, this skirt is gorgeous... Emily, you have a huge corsage on your dress... HOLLA!

on the day of the runway Keith finds out his model dropped out. amused cuz he panics that he has to refit his toilet paper dress on his new model.

models go down runway. Blayne's outfit looks like Emily's... black dress w/ its huge corsage except for its placement. Daniel's outfit looked ok. he didn't make the top 3. instead Terri's backless skirt and pants outfit wowed the judges along w/ the creations from Leanne and Kenley. I liked Leanne's outfit best. photo from the Bravotv.com site. I thought Leanne would win... but Kenley wins and gets immunity.

Spartakiad

current song: When I Grow Up by Pussycat Dolls on Hot 93.9 FM

when I 1st heard this single... thought it was Girls Aloud.

Spartakiad
the Beijing Olympics begin in 10 solar days. getting excited for the challenges... goals... I set for myself during the games. I will win the Mega Millions. I will win currency.

anyway... here's how the challenge(s) came about. friend Shiela talked about quilt makers... some out there who set a goal to start on a quilt at the beginning of the games (opening ceremonies) and finish the quilt by the end of the games (closing ceremonies). she mentioned a physical challenge. she's like: hey... why don't we target 800 miles? that would mean I would have to bike, run, walk, swim... whatever it takes... an average of almost 50 miles each solar day. frell that. instead we set a target of 150 miles... or less than 10 miles per solar day... achievable during that time.

I decided to call my Olympic challenge Spartakiad in reference to East Germany's sports festivals... basically it's own Olympics. East Germany... the GDR... always fascinated me growing up. it amazed me that such a small country w/ a relatively small population could compete against and beat the Soviets and the Americans in sports... especially in swimming and track & field. I associate the color blue w/ the GDR. blue sports attire (swimsuits, tank tops, leotards, etc)... blue bobsleds... blue luges... blue everything. the GDR scientists studied colors and athletic performance... blue best... pink worst. after reunification GDR scientists admitted to giving vitamins (blue pills... seriously, even the vitamins colored blue) to its athletes to enhance their performance. if the GDR existed today... who knows what kinds of vitamins the scientists would have developed? who knows what they would have done to its athletes? it may be a stretch... but the scientists could have done something on a genetic level to beat the drug tests.

anyway... the 800 miles target ate away at me and so I decided do it. challenge started on 07.11.08... giving me 45 solar days to complete it. this would come out to an average of less than 18 miles each solar day... very doable. today, according to my Sportline pedometer... 7.08 miles. rough breakdown... 4 miles during the workday... 1 mile walking around Magic Island... 2 miles at vball.

I have 436.27 miles to complete 800 miles by the end of the Beijing Olympics on 08.24.08. I need to average 16.77 miles each remaining solar day.

2,027.27 miles to reach the Babe Estate in San Francisco, by 07.11.09. the San Francisco goal is another story.

Walking
walked around Magic Island w/ friend Shiela and friend Alaska. started to rain. blessing in disguise cuz I really wanted to get into the water. new walk dates will be on Mondays or/and Thursdays.

Aquatic
jellyfish invasion over. chillaxed in my kick ass noodle chair. another Spartakiad challenge... swim 30 minutes non-stop. start from life guard station 1 (the 1st station on the Diamond Head side)... swim 15 minutes towards John Dominis... back to station 1.

Battle of the Bulge: Coke 24 - Cardio 0
another Spartakiad challenge... be victorious over my nemesis Coke. I love to pig out... but I honestly believe my gut created by having all those delicious dranks of Coke. meat eater here... carnivores like leopards, tigers, snakes = lean. herbivores like cows, manatees, elephants, rhinos = fat asses. once I get the score Cardio 1 - Coke 0 at the end of the games... it will be legal for me to go shirtless in every state of this great country. as of now... illegal for me to be seen shirtless on all beaches in Hawaii and all coastal states including Alaska.

Battle of the Bulge
since 07.11.08... I did at least 37 cardio exercises... most of them on the bike. since I need to burn off at least 203 calories to earn 1 drank of Coke... and at 140 calories per can... this equals 54 cans of Coke. then again I've been drinking Coke like crazy. damn you McDonald's for having that $1 drank promotion. I still feel I look like an M&M ... round in the middle w/ lanky arms & legs. I still feel like it's illegal for me to go shirtless at the beaches here in Hawaii and in all coastal states including Alaska. AVP Long Beach: May-Treanor/Walsh

current song: Damaged by Danity Kane on Da Bomb 102.7 FM

Misty May-Treanor & Kerri Walsh win Long Beach. this makes it 101 matches in a row... 18 tournament titles in a row. Kerri Walsh = blocking machine. Boss & Ross... lots of mistakes... 16 errors... almost an entire game. highlight of today's game?... seeing Misty's dance moves.

gotta love them beach vball players. very positive. they all seem to have excellent dispositions. this includes EY. love it when she describes herself as kinda bitchy.

inspirational as well. take Gibb. Gibb worked towards becoming a commercial loan officer... but beach vball his dream. kick as wife's like: let's go to California. so w/ little or no $ they went. wife = awesome. she worked and supported the both of them while he tried to improve his game. now he's representing the US at the Olympics. oh... and he's also making lots of $.

love the marketing too. Nautica... navigate the match. Banana Boat... block of the match. Crocs... fancy footwork.

AVP Long Beach - Gibb/Rosenthal

current song: Party Like A Rockstar by Shop Boyz on Power 104.3 FM

Jake Gibb & Sean Rosenthal win Long Beach. Gibb = funny. Heather Cox's like: what will it take to beat the #1 team in the world?... how will you go up against Phil Dalhausser? Gibb responds: maybe a pipe to his knees. Gibb = blocking machine. Gibb & Rosenthal concentrated, played their game... and won 21-14, 21-14. momentum going into the Olympics.

Thin Beast & Professor out of system. so used to seeing them winning this entire season... surprised they lost. blessing in disguise. team will refocus. hopefully the 2 US teams will win the gold and silver medals.

checked the Hawaii Beach Safety site before going to the beach today. jellyfish invasion supposed to start today... but no jellyfish warning signs... safe to go into the water. invasion should be over by Tuesday. before going into the water I walked from life guard station 1 to station 2 and back to station 1... roughly .25 miles. when I start swimming again I will add this to my Spartakiad mileage counts. I did not use my GDR blue colored TYR kickboard today... chillaxed in my kick ass noodle chair.

Spartakiad
Sportline pedometer - 1.25 miles = 26.34 miles today

my GDR blue Sportline pedometer acted up today. when I put it on at the beach I noticed it reset to 0.00 miles. don't know what happened cuz I didn't reset it. very valuable miles lost. I did, however, walk & bike a marathon today.

493.14 miles to complete 800 miles by the end of the Beijing Olympics on 08.24.08. another breakthrough... under 500 miles. of course I will write about the GDR again. this time, its performance at the 1976 summer Olympics in Montreal.

in the medal count, a medals explosion. the East Germans won medal after medal. the gold medal count doubled to 40 from 20 from the last summer games. GDR athletes dominated swimming... and owned the sport for cycles. swimmer Kornelia Ender became the 1st woman to win 4 gold medals. no memory of her... but she's one of many from the GDR swimming assembly line... culminating in Kristin Otto (who I do remember in her GDR blue swimsuit) winning 6 gold medals in Seoul. GDR athletes also won the most medals in track & field and would also dominate for cycles. GDR athletes highly efficient... a 3rd of its athletes won medals.

Project Runway 5 - Natalie Portman

current song: Love In An Elevator by Aerosmith on KPOI 105.9 FM

ep actually titled Grass is Always Greener. ep begins w/ (I think I'm interesting cuz I have blue hair and refer to myself in the 3rd person) Suede. she's like: any decision that's not Suede going home is the right decision. whatever. the silent fashion assassin Leanne will kill you.

designers get to choose their models. Leanne's last and needs to decide which of the remaining 2 models to work w/. she selects Karalyn and Leanne gets her 1st kill this season. Tim announces that models will be the ones shopping at Mood and that they will have $75 to shop for green, environmental friendly fabric. designers freak out.

model Tia's like: I don't know what to shop for... I just wanna buy stuff that'll look good on me. Keith's model bought peacock feathers. he doesn't know what to do w/ them. Wesley's model purchased green and brown fabric. he could make her look like a tree. after meeting w/ her model who wants a draped outfit, (I think I'm interesting cuz I'm a rocker chick) Stella's like: I'm so urban... I'm so tough... I like form fitting stuff... I'm so edgy.

designers get to work. (I think I'm interesting cuz I'm black and urban w/ my fake tan) Blayne ends every word w/ licious. she's like: licious this... licious that... Heidi's Darthlicious... outside she's all shiny... inside she's all creepy. Wesley looks discouraged cuz of his fabric. Kenley = hot, kinda cute. Stella goes off again. she's like: I'm so urban... I'm so slick. Suede annoys me again. she's like: Suede this... Suede that. Leanne's irritated too. she's like: Suede should stop referring to herself in the 3rd person.

Tim checks on the contestants. Kenley's lookin'g hotter and cuter each time she's on screen. Tim comments on Korto's inverted outfit. he's like: oh... this is the outside of the dress? Suede looks like she's making a lattice top apple pie. Tim tells Wesley to make sure everything's perfect w/ his outfit cuz the lights on the runway will be unforgiving. Leanne looks like she has too much going on w/ her design. Tim announces that there will be no immunity... the winning design will be sold on Bluefly.com... there will be a Hollywood guest judge.

before the runway show Heidi introduces Natalie Portman as the guest judge. she's an environmental activist. I cannot stand celebs who claim to care for the environment. celebs preach to the masses, the hard working middle class drones... their hypocritical causes, when in fact, the wealthy do the most damage to the planet. they live in huge air-conditioned, well lit, energy consuming establishments on their Solarian-size Estates. imagine all the forests cut down for wood... all the mountains blasted for marble and copper... all the animals killed for their hides... just to furnish their establishments. not to mention all the water wasted for their pools and well cared lawns.

Hollywood, please stop preaching your hypocritical causes! start preaching about the wonders of the market economy. I love the insane amount of $ celebs earn, spend and pump into the economy... $ that trickles down to the hard working middle class drones. the $ spent on expensive leather furniture helped put food on the table to those who made it. thank you celebs for hiring drones to help maintain your estates. the pool cleaner and gardener have to make a living too. hmmm... enough of this tangent.

I liked Stella's outfit the best. I thought she would win. top 3... (getting hotter and cuter each time) Kenley, Stella, and surprisingly Suede w/ her pepperoni and cheese pizza lookin' dress. Suede wins. I think she won cuz her outfit looks the cheapest and easiest to manufacture... meaning higher profit margins for Bluefly. photo from Bravotv.com site.

judges don't make sense. to Wesley, Nina's like: shiny, tight, short = cheap. and yet they love Stella's outfit, which also is shiny, tight and short. Wesley goes home though.

Leanne in the bottom 2. Leanne looks scary. she reminds me of Sissy Spacek in Carrie before she killed everyone at the prom. she is a silent fashion assassin. Leanne should kill off her model Karalyn. when Nina asked Karalyn if she liked the dress, she's like: uhm... oh... uhm... it's not what I pictured. Karalyn should have raved about the outfit.

obsessed w/ the Cylon triathletes today. actually counted 11 Cylons... who's the 12th Cylon? ha ha ha... just like BSG. in the parking lot I stopped in front of them so they could make their way to the beach. spotted their leader D'Anna right away. Zipp waved a thank you gesture. spotted Sharon... the tall, lean white dude... the asian dude w/ the yellow stripe on the side of his shirt. that makes 5.

while chillaxin' in my kick ass noodle chair, Cylons returned from their swim. of course D'Anna in the lead group... joined by Zipp in his purple Speedo, holding his pink swim cap... tall, lean white dude... and chubby dude... and 1 unknown. later my friend spotted OMA... mother in Korean... but actually Old Man Ass. OMA joined w/ 2 other Cylons. 1 Cylon straggler... tall, hairy white dude. I swear I counted 11. in the parking lot we saw OMA and old white dude. OMA = former peacekeeper. plates had 964 on it. I may call him 9 since Cylon models 4 and 6 are girls... but OMA = funnier.

Cylons continued their workout w/ a run around the park. by the time my friend and I finished showering and went back the car, the Cylons already ran around Magic Island. by the time we left they almost made it back to their start. damn fit Cylons.

Modern Marvels - Copper

current song: Forever by Chris Brown on Power 104.3 FM

as usual I learn many things watching Modern Marvels.

show begins by showing peacekeeper vessels. ship builders love copper. metal resistant to corrosion and protects the ships from marine organisms (like barnacles growing on the hulls). the peacekeeper ship... USS Constitution... aka Old Ironsides... actually covered in copper.

copper heavily used in industry. found in mobiles, laptops, motors, electrical wiring, etc. ancient Egyptians 1st to discover smelting... separating metal from mineral ore. humans later discovered alloys. tin + copper = bronze. bronze used by peacekeepers for stronger weapons and armor. over 400 alloys today.

mining companies operate 24/7. each ton of rock yields 6 lbs of copper after all the processing. 1.5 millions tons recycled each cycle. recycled copper primarily used by the plumbing industry. pipes normally outlast the buildings. ancient Egyptians mentioned again. w/ copper plumbing, the ancients actually purified their water since the copper killed microbes. medical industry looking into copper as well... looking to use copper for all door knobs and handles.

some facts mentioned before commercial breaks. Triton-class submarines use 200K lbs of copper for its electrical and storage systems... < 10% of the 8.1 trillion lbs of copper on the planet used (not running out anytime soon)... US mint changed composition of penny to 2.6% copper & 97.4% zinc to keep production costs under a cent.

KDrama: Happiness - Episode 22

current song: The Little Things by Colbie Caillat on Star 101.9 FM

poor hottie Mrs. Ahn. she gets all dolled up... she goes to the Lee establishment... lookin' all good... lookin' all MILFy... dropping off lots of food for the Lees to pig out on. she tells the grandma: don't worry about all the food, even though its expensive... lots of companies want to give food to the Chairman and his family... way too much food... a lot of it goes to the orphanage... and there's lots left over... don't worry about it... where's Mr. Lee? grandma tells her that he's not feeling well and decides to go out.

hottie Ahn wants to make him some porridge. the night before, the Lee abeji... still don't know his name... think it's Cheol-gun... couldn't sleep. he had a vision of his wife. he feels like he's cheating on her and not taking care of his sons. so he wants to break it off... well what little developed... w/ hottie Ahn. he's like: you don't have to make porridge... please don't come around anymore... we have a new daughter-in-law who can take care of all the cooking and the household chores. Ahn's sad. at the Park Estate, hottie Mrs. Ahn's bad mood shows. Jong-ah's like: I wonder what's wrong w/ her?... at 1st she's so happy... now she's a seki.

nympho Eda's heartbroken too. her rich oma wants to know her daily schedule. rich oma's like: give me your school schedule... I also want to know when you go to ballet practice. nymph Eda cannot escape her oma's control.

Jong-ah goes to meet poor boxer Kang-suk. he's busy training. he sees a bird in the trees. I thought he would communicate w/ nymph Eda via passenger pigeons. instead across her establishment he puts up a birdhouse. since he doesn't have a phone... and I assume he doesn't want Eda to give him one... he and she plan to leave messages in the birdhouse to each other. in one of his messages he tells Eda that he loves her.

scion Sang-wook and his wife decide to conceive a child via in vitro. everyone congratulates them. one afternoon rich oma Sae-young talks to Ji-sook (Sang-wook's recreation friend). Sae-young's like: oh how I love my daughter-in-law Ha-kyong... she's perfect except she can't conceive naturally... I hope they have a son... do you know if Sang-wook has another woman on the side? shocked, Ji-sook's like: no... he's not like that... but what if he does have a child? Sae-young's like: don't be silly... no one in my family has an illegitimate child... hey, when are you gonna get married?

Ji-sook meets up w/ the adopted Lee son Yong-Jae. she's like: do you still love me considering the way I am?... if you have kids, will you still love my son as your own?

oh... hard working manager Lee Jun-su tries to ignore Sang-wook at work. Sang-wook notices this. they have a shouting match in his office. Jun-su calls his brother-in-law a coward. I thought he would go further and tell him about being the father of Ji-sook's son. instead they get called to the Chairman's office.

the Chairman tells the guys and his daughter Seo-yun that their company won the bid to do business w/ HK Group. HK Group wants to have dinner and dranks w/ the family. at the dinner the HK Group wife... another hottie... Mrs. Wang... tells Sae-young that she loves Seo-yun. she's like: I like your daughter... she's something special... she's got balls... she's the reason your company won the contract. Sae-young's like: huh?... pardon me? Wang's like: oh... never mind what I said.

Jun-su looks uncomfortable the entire night. at home he tells his wife about his family life as soon as his oma died. he's like: my abeji started drinking... he'd have drank after drank... one night he gave me and Jun-ki cider... I didn't want to drink it... I started acting silly like the comedians I see on TV... I started singing and dancing to make him smile... he started to smile... I started to smile... we all started crying... he threw out the bottle of cider... where he threw the bottle out nothing has grown there. shocked.

another tournament... another title. Misty & Kerri win Brooklyn. it makes 17 tournaments and 96 matches in a row. broadcaster stud Chris Marlowe covered the match. he cracks me up. NBC didn't air the intros... didn't get to see Misty showboat w/ her dance moves. she will find out in August if she will be selected to compete on Dancing w/ the Stars. bring it. it would be funny if she and another vball player got selected. Misty would be like: you got served! Dalhausser would be interesting to watch... especially since he's almost 7 feet tall. the height difference between him and his partner would be interesting.

The Dark Knight

current song: Take A Bow by Rihanna on Da Bomb 102.7 FM

I enjoyed this latest Batman movie. not much of a movie person and so I created a new label... uhm... movies... to make a note of the number of movies I watch.

went to the Regal Theatres at Dole Cannery last night to watch the 23:15 show... actually the 23:30 show after all the previews. like I said... not much of a movie person... but I read a review in People mag earlier that afternoon. it mentioned 1 scene that interested me... where the Joker... Heath Ledger... would make a pencil disappear into a guy's skull. what I imagined versus what actually filmed and shown... totally different, totally awesome. if I watch it on DVD I know I would replay that scene over and over.

the Joker... hard to describe... menacing, sinister. I wonder if I blinked when he appeared onscreen? mesmerized by Ledger's performance.

love the shots of Hong Kong... or at least what looked like the city.

current song: Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis on Power 104.3 FM

the Thin Beast & the Professor win Brooklyn. Dalhausser/Rogers up 3-0 in game 1... all from the Thin Beast block. team went on to decimate Nick Lucena & Sean Scott 21-16, 21-12. still trying to get my pre-teen Sean Scott beach vball summer bod. still illegal for me to go shirtless on all the beaches here in Hawaii and all the coastal states including Alaska.

Chris Marlowe cracks me up. he mentions a story about the Thin Beast. he's like: Dalhausser started losing his hair in his early 20s... Dalhausser wondered if he would look good w/ a shaved head... blah blah blah. anyway as soon as Marlowe ends this story and goes back to the live action, Lucena spikes a ball on Dalhausser's head. 2,273.79 miles to reach the Babe Estate in San Francisco, by 07.11.09.

I changed my stride length from 27 to 28 inches. here's the process. went to a friend's house 1 night... marked 30 feet on the street... counted the # of steps it would take to traverse that length... 5 walks down the runway... average 13.4 steps. calculation... 30 feet/13.4 steps = 2.23 feet per step = 26.86 inches per step. rounded up to 27 inches.

co-workers bought pedometers at Wal-Mart. needed to figure out their stride lengths. I explained process and how to count steps. I wanted to see if my results would be the same. results differed... averaged 12.2 steps to walk 30 feet. attributed this to the energy in fast-paced metropolitan Honolulu. calculation... 30 feet/12.2 steps = 29.50 inches. a 10% difference.

I decided to take an average of the 10 walks down the runway, which came out to an average of 12.8 steps to walk 30 feet. new, official calculation... 30 feet/12.8 steps = 28.12 inches. if I have to show another person how to determine his stride length I will recalculate mine again.

w/ the new stride length set in my pedometer it will help me get closer to reaching my Spartakiad goals. I need to average 18.45 miles a solar day to complete 800 miles by the end of the Beijing Olympics. I want to have less than 600 miles to complete by Tuesday. cardio blitzkriegs the next 3 solar days.

Project Runway - Season 5 Premiere

current song: One Week by Barenaked Ladies on Star 101.9 FM

single released in 1998. UK #1 10 cycles ago... Because We Want To by Billie.

Project Runway season 5 debuted tonight.

my 1st impressions of the contestants. Blayne... please... white girl who thinks she's black and urban and who thinks she's interesting... fake tan won't make her dark enough to even pass as black and urban or interesting. Stella... please... another person who thinks she's interesting. she's like: I'm a rocker. Suede... please. she's like: Suede's gonna do this... Suede's gonna do that... Suede's gonna win this thang. Leanne I like. she's normal and doesn't even try to be interesting. what got me? she's like: I'm a silent fashion assassin. I immediately thought of Shandi from cycle 2 of America's Next Top Model. Shandi 1st comes across as a shy, country virgin... in Rome, the vixin w/in surfaces and she recreates w/ a male model. only other contestant I find interesting... Daniel. his 2nd career choice? zoologist. contestants meet Tim and Heidi on the rooftop and have some dranks.

Tim wakes up the contestants at 04:00. he's like: alright everyone this is a wake up call... everyone get ready for today's challenge. he brings them to Gristedes, a grocery store. Austin Scarlett's the guest judge. one of the contestant's like: he's so glamorous. Austin gives them the details. they need to create a look from materials purchased in a grocery store w/ a budget of $75. Austin's like: I won this challenge... innovation is the key to success.

contestants rush into the store. most of them buy table cloths. Kelli's like: I'm gonna buy some other stuff... I wanna challenge myself. interesting. Terri buys some mop heads. interesting. Korto decides to buy some produce. interesting. they all rush to buy materials in 30 minutes.

in the workroom Joe decides on an Italian theme... a fusilli dress. he plans to make it using oven mitts, pasta, and tomato can labels. Kelli bleaches and dyes the vacuum bags she purchased. Daniel bought blue plastic cups. he cuts them up and tries to shape them by ironing them... but the plastic melts. Stella planned to make an outfit that looked like leather... but the garbage bags she purchased not what she had in mind.

Tim goes around the room and sees a lot of table cloths. he's like: you guys are a bunch of slackers... table cloths? the designers start adding various materials to their outfits. Leanna glues some candy, cookies and marshmallows to her dress.

like last season I wanted to try to predict the final 3 based on the 1st challenge. I liked Daniel's blue plastic cup evening dress. he should have won this challenge. 2nd choice would have been Wesley's yellow cloth, yellow plastic cup, yellow fly swatter dress. 3rd choice would have been Terri's mop top top and table cloth skirt.

Kelli won the challenge. I think she won cuz her model's thinner than Daniel's model. bottom 3... Blayne w/ his diaper outfit, Stella w/ her trash bags, and Jerry w/ his American Psycho outfit. I honestly thought Blayne should have been out... but because people may think she's interesting, she stays on another week for ratings purposes.

KDrama: Happiness - Episode 21

current song: Swing by Savage on Da Bomb 102.7 FM

very long KDrama. Happiness totals 50 eps. frell... 29 more.

nymphomaniac Eda blows off (no pun intended) the blind date her rich oma Sae-young arranged. poor boxer Kang-suk boards a train and heads to the coast. Eda goes w/ him. her oma freaks out cuz Eda's not answering her mobile. Sae-young screams at everyone in the establishment. she's like: where's my princess?... what's going on?... do you know something I don't?... everyone, turn in your resignation. Jong-ah has a nervous breakdown. hottie Mrs. Ahn (get to her later) tries to calm Sae-young.

on the train nympho Eda falls asleep and lays her head on Kang-suk's serious boxer shoulders. scandalous. while she sleeps he texts driver Kim to pick up Eda at some train station they plan to stop at. at the station Kang-suk's like: Eda, I love you... you cannot follow me to the coast... if your oma finds out, she'll send you far away... then we'll never see each other again... saranghae.

meanwhile the newlywed couple, hard working Lee Jun-su and rich daughter Seo-yun, make up. on the rooftop of corporate headquarters. they flirt w/ each other... they re-introduce themselves to one another... they ask each other out. they take a walk in a park. she tells him that she loved it when he piggybacked her home when she got drunk (actually pretended to be drunk). she wants to do it piggyback-style in the park. scandalous. Jun-su's like: hey... did you put on more weight since we go married? Seo-yun promises to go to the Lee establishment the next day.

Seo-yun gets a call from one of the help. she goes back to her Estate to see her oma yelling at everyone still. Seo-yun's like: lady... stop harassing all these innocent people... you're so full of drama... Eda's 21 years old already... maybe she's at a karaoke bar. Sae-young's like: Eda's not like you... she's a good girl.

Jong-ah tells Seo-yun that nympho Eda is out w/ boxer Kang-suk. Seo-yun tells driver Kim to pick Eda up and that she'll take care of all the drama w/ her oma. Eda comes home. oma Sea-young's relieved. Seo-yun's like: back off lady... you pressured Eda into meeting some guy she doesn't like... how can she say no to all your constant pressure?... her phone batter went dead and so that's why she didn't answer your calls... back off.

in nympho Eda's room, Seo-yun tells her sister to not see Kang-suk anymore. Seo-yun doesn't know what a nympho her young sister has become. she's like: you don't love Kang-suk... you're just infatuated w/ him... we're from different backgrounds... it's not love, it's infatuation. Eda's like: thank you for helping me w/ oma.

as for hottie Mrs. Ahn... she plans to go to the Lee establishment to drop off some food. she dolls herself up... she puts on some blush and lipstick... wears a floral dress... and lets her hair down. damn hottie Mrs. Ahn. she wants to see the animalistic Lee abeji. the Lee abeji also starts paying attention to his looks. his sons tell him: hey... you look like a young dude... why are you so dressed up? the Lee abeji asks hottie Mrs. Ahn out for coffee. ooooo. they take a walk in a park and have ice cream. while walking a dude on a bike almost runs over hottie Ahn. now she's in the arms of the animalistic Lee abeji. would have been funny if the ice cream hit her face cuz then she would have been creamed. scandalous.

Ji-sook plans a birthday party for her son. she invites scion Sang-wook over. his wife Ha-kyong overhears his plans. as he's leaving the office she's like: hey, let's meet my powerful cousins for dinner... oh... and some other power couple will be there. he texts Ji-sook that he can't make it.

Ji-sook has some dranks and starts to burn whatever pics she has of Sang-wook. the adopted Lee son comes over. he gives her an ultimatum. he's like: it's either me, you and your son... or you live in the shadows of Sang-wook who will never come to you.

at the Lee establishment the adopted son has some dranks. he's getting drunk from soju. hard working manager Lee Jun-su sees his older bro. he's like: what's wrong? the older bro's like: you know that lady Ji-sook I love?... well the father of her son's still alive... it's your brother-in-law Sang-wook. Jun-su gets all bug eyed.

wannabe rocker Lee son's really stupid. some con artists start to talk to him at the club. they're like: hey... we wanna sign you up... but we don't have funds... too bad about timing... what can we do so we don't lose you as a talent? he's like: oh... my sister-in-law is their heir to SJ Group.

before buying my kick ass GDR blue colored pedometer, a friend told me about online sites that help calculate steps into miles. some of the cardio machines at the gym give the total number of steps rather than distance. I came across the Walk 4 Life site... and the step to mile calculator. I 1st needed to determine stride length. it takes me an average of 13.4 steps to walk 30 feet.

since 13.4 steps cannot be entered into the Walk 4 Life calculation I entered 13 and 14 for a comparison. fewer steps translate into longer strides. longer strides translate into greater distances.

the pedometer I bought asks for the stride length in inches, which according to my calculations would be 26.86" per stride. I rounded it up to 27 inches. again... longer strides translate into greater distances.

there will be times when I will not wear my pedometer and so the rounding of the numbers is justified.

according to the pedometer, I walked .16 miles. I have 2,388.33 miles to go to reach San Francisco and 797.33 miles remaining until the end of the Olympics.

at the end of the Olympics I will have a new label... San Francisco... to help me keep track of my walk to the Babe Estate.

Battle of the Bulge: Coke 34 - Cardio 0
I had 3 unearned dranks of Coke. seriously, what the frell?

my Coke problem... outta control. as part of my GDR Spartakiad challenge I set out a goal to earn all my dranks of Coke by the end of the Olympics. I thought the Games end on the 23rd of August... but it ends on the 24th. an extra solar day!!! now I have 43 solar days to have cardio triumph over Coke.

Supercarrier - USS Ronald Reagan

current song: Forever by Chris Brown on Da Bomb 102.7 FM

awesome ship. awesome peacekeeper weapon. the USS Ronald Reagan ... of course named after our great leader... is a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier. I always wondered why the peacekeepers would allow shows to be produced about its latest weapons and aired for the world to see. then I thought: perhaps the peacekeepers have nothing to fear cuz they have newer, more powerful weapons in development. sure enough the peacekeepers will replace the Nimitz-class w/ the (Gerald) Ford-class carriers. awesome.

fully manned the USS Ronald Reagan has between 5000 to 6000 peacekeepers onboard... a floating air force base. it's motto: Peace Through Strength. how appropriate.

what fascinated me about this show... food. kick ass food = happy peacekeepers. food available 23 hours a day. I assume the 1 hour needed to clean kitchen and service equipment. head chef says spaghetti night... as well as steak night... very popular. peacekeeper personnel also drink lots of soda. tin cans crushed and thrown overboard since biodegradable.

Discovery - The People's Republic of Capitalism

current song: Love Song by Sara Bareilles on Star 101.9 FM

The People's Republic of Capitalism... very interesting. Ted Koppel (his bio I find interesting too) goes to Chongqing to report on the transformation in China and its effects on the planet.

Chongqing? it's one of China's 90 cities w/ a million+ people. in the next few cycles, the Chinese government hopes to have 20 million people living in the city... and the other 10 million living in its outskirts. what the frell? uber-urbanization... faster than Dubai.

I only watched part 1 of this series. Discovery will surely re-air this. this ep explains the awesome market economy.

American industry relocates its factories and plants to China to take advantage of its cheap labor... making lots of goods more affordable. the show mentions Apple and its $300 iPod. the company designs the product in California and assembles it in China making $80 profit for every 1 sold, while the Chinese factory earns only $4. on a grander scale... Wal-Mart and its everyday low prices. the employed Chinese earn only a few dollars a day... seems like pennies to Americans... but seems like hundreds of dollars to the Chinese.

billions spent on merchandise at Wal-Mart. Americans, including those patriots who lost their jobs to the Chinese, shop at Wal-Mart for bargains and its array of quality inexpensive goods. the emerging Chinese middle class shop at Wal-Mart as well. what I found interesting, the Chinese view Wal-Mart as a high-end retailer... again cuz of its affordable quality goods.

I know China's industrialization will be good for everyone in the long term. American industry will survive. the Chinese middle class will only continue to get bigger and will buy more goods thus reducing the the trade deficit... perhaps even becoming a surplus. Chinese industry will fall in line w/global standards. no more (or perhaps less) news of tainted toys or poison in food and medicine. w/ our insatiable appetite for goods, Americans and much much much later on, the Chinese, will lose jobs to another part of the world where labor is cheap. love the dynamics of the market economy.

Battle of the Bulge: Coke 31 - Cardio 0

current song: I Need You by Leann Rimes on KSSK 92.3 FM

Battle of the Bulge: Coke 31 - Cardio 0
seriously... what the frell? I have to do 31 cardio exercises to earn my dranks of my nemesis Coke. I will be victorious. I will defeat my nemesis. what ever happened to having a drank only on prime number solar days and weekends?

24 Hour Fitness
Cardio
Precor 966i (treadmill) - quick start program, 43.36 minutes, level 3 (gradual increase to level 3.9)... 2.51 miles (2,388.49 miles to San Francisco)

208 calories burned > 203 calories for 1 can Coke reward

1 mile in 19.08 minutes
2 miles in 36.05 minutes

tonight I wanted to see how long it would take to burn off 203 calories to earn a drank of Coke. when I do go walking around Magic Island I will use an approximation of these numbers. these figures will apply for the remainder of July, until I increase the numbers in August.

20 minutes = 1 mile
35 minutes = 2 miles
40/45 minutes = 2.5 miles and 1 can Coke reward.

Spartakiad
friend Sheila gave me a brilliant idea... walk to California. friend Althea lives in San Francisco... so I'll walk to her establishment. the Babe Estate is approximately 2391 miles from mine. the cardio exercises I do will help me get there. I have set a goal to do this w/in 1 cycle.

the number 800 is stuck in my head. from now until the end of the Beijing Olympics I need to have totaled 800 miles of cardio. I have 797.49 miles to go.

Cardio Blitzkrieg (attempt)

current song: Anytime Anyplace by Janet Jackson on Hot 93.9 FM

Battle of the Bulge: Coke 24 - Cario 0. what the frell?

Aquatic
breaststroke (arms only) to life guard station 2. back to station 1.

15 minutes < 20 minutes goal. no 1 can Coke reward.

chillaxin' day at the beach. spotted lots of non-friends. hairy sand runner dude and Cylon-like triathletes (less D'Anna, Sharon and Zipp) in the parking lot. I have no names for the 4 guys cuz none comes to mind. Zipp's not a Cylon name... but he drives a Z. friend Shiela calls them the final four... and one of them old man ass cuz it's flat.

speaking of Cylons... I think the final Cylon is Dualla. friend Shiela and I talked about Battlestar and I asked her about the Cylon females. only 4 of them. why the number of female and male Cylons not 6 each who knows? it would make sense if the final Cylon's a female to bring the numbers closer... 7 males to 5 females. and her name... Dualla... dual... as in dual personality. love Geminis.

24 Hour Fitness
Cardio
bike (straight) - random program, level 9 (gradual decrease to level 3)

230 calories burned > 203 calories for 1 can Coke reward. realized goal in 24.88 minutes.

biked 10.06 miles/kms in 27.91 minutes. I wanted to see how long it would take for me to go at least 10 miles/kms in preparation for my Olympics challenge. I prefer to call it Spartakiad.

fond memories of the GDR sports machine. I associate blue w/ the GDR athletes... swimmers like Kristin Otto and Daniela Hunger w/ their blue swimsuits and caps... shot putter Ulf Timmermann and javelin thrower Petra Felke w/ their blue shorts (love the throwing events)... even blue luges and bobsleds. the GDR scientists correlated colors to athletic performance and discovered blue to be the best. feelings toward GDR shattered w/ its massive steriod and doping programs.

Spartakiad Challenge

current song: Dangerous by Kardinal Offishall on Da Bomb 102.7 FM

friend Shiela had a brilliant idea... an Olympics challenge. she explained that some people set out goals that will be attained, realized during the games. she mentioned some people out there who start on a quilt during the opening ceremony and complete it by the closing ceremony. she's like: yeah... let's bike 800 miles during that time. too ambitious. more realistic goal of biking 150 miles.

my primary goal... cardio blitzkrieg until I earn all my dranks of Coke. Battle of the Bulge score... Coke 23 - Cardio 0. seriously, what the frell? who knows what the score will be when the Beijing Olympics begin on 08.08.08? I hope it rains that day... a sign of good luck, good fortune. I will make sure that by the end of the Olympics the score will at least be Cardio 1 - Coke 0.

Wimbledon - Rafael Nadal Champion

current song: Midnight Hour by SDIB on Island 98.5 FM

Rafael Nadal wins Wimbledon. awesome match. I assume when I'd get up this morning, Federer would have already won his 6th Wimbledon title. instead, Nadal won the 1st 2 sets 6-4, 6-4. started watching from the 3rd set on. in that 3rd set Federer won the tie-breaker... same w/ the 4th. I knew that play in the final set would continue until someone won by 2 games. I thought Federer had momentum on his side. in the end Nadal won the final set 9-7.

chillaxed again at Ala Moana Beach. totally chillaxin'. last night at the Von Galena Estate. looking forward to returning to my own establishment tomorrow. then it's off to the beach again. looking forward to using my floatie.

disappointed w/ myself. Battle of the Bulge update... Coke 20 - Cardio 0. what the frell? could have been much worse. just today I found a case of Pepsi. who knows what the score would have been had I found the case earlier during my stay.

no sight of any of the regulars at the beach. no Japanese wedding either. I haven't seen honu in a while... it's been months. I should make a honu label. this way I can keep track when I see one.

AVP Boulder - Metzger/Williams

current song: Wanderlust by Bjork

beach volleyball in Colorado. Metzger & Williams win over Medel & Souza. local boy Stein's 18th AVP title and 1st for Mark Williams... both UCLA grads. uber-announcer Chris Marlowe entertaining as usual. Metzger & Williams will remain a team for the rest of this season.

a lot of local boys in the tournament. Nick Lucena/Sean Scott & Aaron Wachtfogel/Scott Wong each placed 3rd.

Crocs commercials showing new styles. shout out to Banana Boat. thank you for making a hypoallergenic product available to the masses... love the Sport Quik-Dri Body & Scalp SPF 30.

Wimbledon - Venus Williams Champion

current song: Black And Gold by Sam Sparro

Venus Williams... a kick ass Gemini... won Wimbledon. Venus beat Serena 7-5, 6-4. in the 1st game, Serena won all 4 points... eventually leading 4 games to 2 in the 1st set. Venus broke Serena's service games twice to steal the 1st set. I still thought Serena would win the match... but in the end Venus won her 5th Wimbledon title. love when these 2 play... all the grunts... very animalistic.

in the royal box, uber-pol Margaret Thatcher. love her. the triad... Thatcher, President Reagan, and Chancellor Kohl of Deutschland... kicked ass. fond memories of the triad... especially President Reagan. I remember a strong economy... strong dollar... strong peacekeeper force. too bad President Reagan's SDI peacekeeper weapon not realized. I loved it when the President fired the striking air traffic controllers. hmmm... again, that's my memory. I should re-phrase. looking back, I loved it when the President stood up to the union. IMO I find unions to be disruptive to the market economy.

Discovery Health - Genius Sperm Bank

current song: Digital Love by Daft Punk

ha ha ha ha ha. turned on the TV... switched to the Electronica muzik channel... appropriate song title for this entry. Happy Birthday America! 232 cycles today... damn you're gettin' old... and you've become an awesome uber-power. please continue to become more awesome. Just Dance by Lady GaGa now playing.

watched Genius Sperm Bank on the Discovery Health Channel. doctor/scientist... eugenicist Robert Graham founded the Repository for Germinal Choice. he wanted sperm donors w/ uber-high IQs to pass along their smarts to their offspring.

I felt sorry for the Zerr family. I don't know who wanted to find the donor dad... mom Lisa or daughter Paisley. I can understand if Paisley had an interest about her biological dad... but it seemed as if her mom was the one who really wanted to know. mom would be online for hours... she eventually got the donor's name... Jason Kaiser.

puh-leeze. he's like: I know I have 19 kids out there... if any more women want my services I'll be happy to oblige... I would love to be a king in the past... I'd have 70 kids all around me in my palace... they'd be like my gang... there should be more people like me.

the Zerrs and Jason arrange a meeting. Lisa and Paisely fly from Denver to California to meet him. he doesn't call them like he promised... he doesn't show up at the meeting in the hotel... he shows up a day late. he's like: I'm so sorry... I have all these kids w/ me and I had to take care of them. real genius... but get some southern manners. when they meet, they talk for a bit and it's time for goodbye. but mom Lisa wants to hang out for the day. he reluctantly agrees to have lunch w/ them and his kids... Paisely's half-brothers and -sisters.

I don't know if I would want to seek out my biological dad. if I didn't have a father who knows what I would imagine him to be like. I'd picture him to be good looking like the models in ads or actors on TV cuz that's what I would be exposed to growing up. also watched a lot of sports too... so I'd also picture him to be athletic, fit and tall. never thought about $ growing up and so I wouldn't think of his financial portfolio.

can't really say... but I know myself. if I saw someone on TV I'd be like: hey... that's my dad. I remember when I 1st met some of the volleyball people many cycles ago... they didn't know my last name... told them it's Grimaldi. they believed me. I normally see most of the vball people once a week... and they usually ask about my weekends. a few cycles ago I told them my uncle Ranier died. they're like: oh... I'm so sorry. haven't these people heard of Monaco?

Aquatic

current song: A View To A Kill by Duran Duran

totally chillaxin' day at the beach... frellin' chillaxin'. lot of people marking their territory for tomorrow's 4th of July holiday. don't these people work? then again it's awesome they're all celebrating America's birthday cuz all the supplies they bought that'll last them tonight and tomorrow means $ pumped into the market economy. gonna give a shout out to the US of A. go America... it's your birthday... go America... it's your birthday!

no sign of D'Anna, Sharon, Zipp or the other Cylon triathletes. I did see the old man who collects cans doing his slap the water swam thang... the hairy sand runner dude... and the group of triathletes who swim laps around the orange buoys. new sighting today... Asian girl... most likely tourist... in a bedazzled swimsuit. another 1st... huge aquatic inflatable that looks like it could fit 8 adults or a dozen kids comfortably. that gave friend Sheila an idea... chillax at Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park. should be fun.

frell the beach tomorrow. crowd estimated to be 50,000 people. based on the culture here I know Hawaii eats more fresh fish than the national average. I wonder how much fish will be decimated tomorrow. I plan to chillax at the Von Galena Estate and go to 24 Hour Fitness in the afternoon. I should have the whole place to myself. I want to do weights but most likely a cardio blitzkrieg. Battle of the Bulge score... Coke 18 - Cardio 0. what the frell?

just crunched some numbers. 1 can of Coke = 140 calories. 203 calories to burn for 1 can Coke reward. when (not if) I do my 18 cardio exercises to earn my dranks it will equal 26 cans of my nemesis. very exciting.
